The San Francisco 49ers and Trey Lance, disappointed in their 19-10 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 1, while the Seattle Seahawks defied the odds with an emotional 17-16 win over Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. Check out our Seahawks-49ers picks.

Lance’s first game this season couldn’t have gone worse. The 22-year-old completed 46.4% of his passes in San Francisco’s loss to the Bears. Only three quarterbacks for the 49ers in the Super Bowl era have had a lower completion percentage in the team’s season opener.

However, the defeat wasn’t all on Lance. The Niners were penalized 12 times for 99 yards. A third of the Bears’ first downs were thanks to 49ers penalties.

The Seahawks surprised everyone by beating Wilson in his return to Lumen Field. Seattle is 15- 2 in its last 17 games against San Francisco, which includes season sweeps in each of the last two years.

Here are our top picks for the NFL Week 2 game between the Seahawks and 49ers (odds via DraftKings Sportsbook and Pointsbet; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Seahawks vs. 49ers ATS Pick

Seahawks +8.5 (-107) ★★★

Pete Carroll owns Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers. Since Shanahan took over as head coach of the Niners, he’s 2-8 against Carroll and the Seahawks.

San Francisco has the superior roster, but it struggled to move the ball in Chicago. The weather was a factor, and it’s likely to be one again on Sunday in Santa Clara.

Carroll had his defense well-prepared for Wilson on Monday, and Lance can expect a tough game this weekend. Lance was pressured 12 times last week, going 1-of-7 for minus-2 yards on those dropbacks, taking two sacks with three scrambles for positive yards.

Also, knock Geno Smith at your peril. In his last two starts, he’s gone 43-for-52 with four touchdown passes and no turnovers, becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to have consecutive starts with 20-plus completions, five or fewer incompletions, multiple touchdown passes, and zero turnovers, according to STATS.

Seahawks vs. 49ers O/U Pick

Under 41 (-107) ★★★★

The forecast has rain for the entirety of this contest. As impressive as the Seahawks’ win was over the Broncos on Monday, they failed to score a single point in the second half. Seattle and the Niners will run the ball as much as possible, which will eat the clock and result in fewer points. For as gifted a schemer as Shanahan is, he managed to score only 10 points in the rain at Soldier Field.

Seahawks vs. 49ers Prop Pick

Jeff Wilson anytime touchdown (+130) ★★★★

The 49ers rushed for 176 yards against the Bears, but they’ve lost Elijah Mitchell for up to eight weeks with an MCL injury. Jeff Wilson Jr. stepped in as cover when Mitchell went out, and it looks as though he’ll be San Francisco’s lead back on Sunday.

Speaking this week, Shanahan said Wilson is someone the team "trusts as much as anyone" in the organization.

Wilson rushed for 600 yards and seven touchdowns in 12 games during the 2020 season. He’s fully recovered from the knee injury that kept him out last year, so expect him to be integral to the 49ers’ offense against Seattle. He's a solid play to find the endzone.
