San Francisco 49'ers
Yesterday's road win over the Carolina Panthers proved once again that playoff grizzled veterans have a distinct advantage over the talented young guns looking to make their mark in the postseason. But next week the Niners will possess no such advantage as the Seahawks got a taste of postseason glory last year before they narrowly bowed to the Falcons.
Colin Kaepernick targeted Anquan Boldin a team high 12 times and completed eight of those passes for 136 yards. Funny what a difference a year makes after Kaepernick watched his pass and catch buddy torture the 49'ers in last year's Super Bowl for a touchdown and 104 receiving yards while playing for the Baltimore Ravens. Is Boldin destined for two consecutive Super Bowls? Maybe he just might be the difference maker in your NFL picks?
If you had the Seahawks in your NFL picks this past weekend then you better have gotten down early because they shot up from eight-point favorites in NFL odds to as high as 10 in some offshore shops. Fortunately in my season long column I was able to take advantage of the eight-point number that oddsmakers, like Bet365.com, were dealing and it resulted in a push rather than a loss.
But this week we find the trend is clearly moving in the direction of the 49’ers with the public already betting this line down from 3 ½ to 3 in NFL odds. Will this trend continue or will the sportsbooks hold firm, fearing the dreaded middle? We will continue to update you every day this week.[gameodds]16/255344/?r-1=43-19-349/us[/gameodds]
