The Los Angeles Rams are still the favorites to win the division. But the 49ers have the talent and coaching to make things interesting, so futures bets on San Francisco to win the NFC West are going to be appealing to many bettors.

If you’re looking to lock in this futures wager, your best bets are the +200 odds you’ll find at BetMGM and FanDuel. Avoid DraftKings for this particular play, as they offer depleted odds of +150.

Given my confidence in Trey Lance as a dynamic leader for the offense combined with how strong San Francisco looked to close out last season, I’m seeking out Overs on the 49ers’ win total. Your options for this wager vary, so don’t be afraid to shop around on this one.

Let’s start over at FanDuel, where you can get even-money odds on the 49ers to exceed 10 wins. In the tough NFC West, banking on an 11-6 season feels suspect even for the most quality of teams; good teams cannibalizing one another within the division could prevent gaudy win totals.

I’m more inclined to place this wager at DraftKings, where the bar to clear is just 9.5 wins. Though your ROI is lesser (-145), an exact record of 10-7 feels plausible. I’m comfortable betting this at DraftKings to avoid a push.

To win Super Bowl (+1600)

I could see a scenario where the Rams come away with the division but the battle-tested 49ers emerge with a greater prize: the Lombardi Trophy.

Doing so with a QB in his first year as a full-time NFL starter is difficult, but not unprecedented — Kurt Warner and Tom Brady both accomplished the task. Kyle Shanahan’s offensive game plan should help the 49ers to get the most out of Lance. San Francisco’s top-five scoring defense clamped down in the playoffs last year, conceding 20 or fewer points in each game, and should be a unit to reckon with again this season.

Samuel Offensive Player of the Year (+1600)

The 49ers unlocked the vast potential of Samuel last season, deploying him in various roles on the field with a singular goal in mind: Get the football in his hands.

His versatility and explosiveness meant the 49ers were in scoring position from anywhere on the field. Samuel racked up 1770 yards from scrimmage and led the league in receiving yards per reception, only losing out on the OPoY voting to a historic season by Cooper Kupp.

It would be tough for Kupp to repeat what he did a year ago, but Samuel still has room to grow after the 49ers ratcheted up his usage in the running game starting in Week 9 last season. A full year of Samuel as a go-to utility knife could hype up his end-of-season award prospects.
