Surprised to see the Saints at 0-2? We are too, but Drew Brees and company have a great chance to notch their first win at home in Week 3. They'll be welcoming a Minnesota team that was just humbled by the Patriots. How are the NFL odds shaping up?

The Saints have still yet to get a win this season, a surprising development considering how talented this team is.

We've still got a long way to go, however, and New Orleans is in a prime spot to grab a victory at home. The Saints will be making their first appearance of the season in front of their fans, and the NFL odds suggest they should have a pretty easy time.

At time of writing, New Orleans is favored by at least 10 points, with some sites having 10.5 and even 11 there for the taking.

Mark Ingram is out for a while, meaning Khiry Robinson and Pierre Thomas will pick up the running back duties. Drew Brees has his full allotment of wideouts to target, including Marques Colston, Kenny Stills, Brandin Cooks, and of course tight end Jimmy Graham.

The Vikings, after getting humiliated at home last week, will be without Adrian Peterson, meaning Matt Asiata will pick up another start. Cordarrelle Patterson and Kyle Rudolph are probable, but linebackers Chad Greenway and Brandon Watts are questionable.

In looking ahead to Sunday, we feel it's necessary to lean on the Saints to cover this large number. They'll be buoyed by the home crowd and should be able to feast on the down-on-their-luck Vikings.

One of the biggest favorites out there this week is New Orleans. The Saints are trading as 9.5-point favorites on the NFL odds for now, but we could easily see that number go back up to 10 or even 10.5 later on in the week.

If you see value in a total play here in Week 3, the current offering is at 49 points at 5Dimes.

New Orleans Saints in 2014-15 Regular Season: 0-2 SU, 0-2 ATS, -2.5 margin of victory

Minnesota Vikings in 2014-15 Regular Season: 1-1 SU, 1-1 ATS, +5.0 margin of victory

The Saints, favored by a touchdown coming in, fell to the Browns straight up in Cleveland last weekend. Once again the defense let New Orleans down, as Rob Ryan's unit made the likes of Brian Hoyer and Terrance West look like world beaters.

Offensively, the Saints did okay, with Drew Brees totaling 237 passing yards to go with two touchdowns and one interception. Jimmy Graham made the biggest impact, hauling in 10 catches for 118 yards while accounting for both scoring plays. Out of the backfield, Mark Ingram carried 11 times for 83 yards and a touchdown before leaving with an injury.

Despite some solid numbers, New Orleans couldn't close the deal on the road. The Saints will be relieved to be making their home debut, as they've been dominant in front of their own fans in recent seasons. The matchup sets up nicely for New Orleans, too, as the Vikings were just crushed at home by the Patriots.

Minnesota started strong, getting the game's first touchdown, but from there it was all New England. The Vikings ended up losing 30-7, with Matt Cassel throwing four interceptions and getting sacked six times in the loss.

In place of Adrian Peterson, Matt Asiata came in and had 84 total yards of offense to go with the one touchdown. Asiata will dominate the backfield touches once again in Week 3 now that Adrian Peterson has been suspended indefinitely.

Looking ahead, it's hard to imagine New Orleans having much trouble controlling this game against Minnesota. The Saints will be motivated as ever to get their first win, and you know they're going to get a boost by playing at home. Meanwhile, the Vikings were just demolished at home and have this Peterson situation hanging over their heads.

Our final ATS NFL pick will be up shortly, but for now we have a strong lean on the home team and the chalk.
