With Jeff Fisher on one sideline and Gary Kubiak on the other, the OVER might be the right NFL pick for Saturday's game between the L.A. Rams and the Denver Broncos.

Fighting in the stands... injuries on the field... yep, NFL football is back in Los Angeles. The L.A. Rams are undefeated after two preseason games at the Coliseum; on Saturday (9:00 p.m. ET), they'll take their show on the road to face the defending Super Bowl champions, the Denver Broncos. Will the Rams make it three in a row? The NFL odds aren't in their favor – the Broncos are this weekend's biggest favorites at –5, and our consensus reports show 52 percent of early bettors on the home side.

Hear Me Now and Hear Me Now, Gurley Man
Judging by the preseason records for both of Saturday's head coaches, a bet on the Broncos might make sense:

Jeff Fisher, Rams: 38-41 ATS, OVER 45-33-1
Gary Kubiak, Broncos: 22-13-2 ATS, OVER 24-12-2

Fisher doesn't exactly unload the clip during these exhibition games. And just because this is Week 3 of the preseason doesn't mean Fisher will treat it as a “dress rehearsal” like everyone else. Most of the starters will play three or four series; RB Todd Gurley, on the other hand, will only get in a few carries before calling it a night.

Meanwhile, Kubiak says he'll keep his starters on the field into the third quarter. There will be more emphasis on the running game than we saw during the first two preseason games; however, the Broncos have some personnel decisions to make on offense, and this is Denver's home opener, so we can expect to see Kubiak open up a can of Orange on Saturday.

Siemian Spirit Guide
It's just as well the Broncos are shifting their focus to the ground game this year. Here's how things look at the quarterback position for both teams in Week 3, according to RotoWorld:

Rams: Case Keenum, Jared Goff, Sean Mannion, Dylan Thompson
Broncos: Trevor Siemian, Mark Sanchez, Paxton Lynch

Siemian got his first preseason start for Denver last week against the San Francisco 49ers, and he connected on 10 of his 14 passes for 75 yards. Unfortunately, he also threw an interception, and the Niners (+7 away) went on to win 31-24. Good thing we had the OVER in our NFL picks. Lynch also threw a pick, but he added two second-half touchdowns; Sanchez was quietly efficient at 10-of-17 for 120 yards.

Everyone's waiting for Goff to take over the starting job in L.A., but they're going to have to wait a while longer. He's been shaky this preseason, while Keenum has been nearly flawless in his two abbreviated starts. Too bad he (probably) won't play the entire first half against the Broncos. That means Goff is going to get a taste of Denver's starting defense – the best defense in the NFL last year. Yeah, the Broncos should win this game, but we'd rather take the OVER on the total of 42 points, given the preseason records for both coaches. Feel the synergy, and feel free to parlay the favorite and the OVER if you like.
