NFL Lone Ranger of the Week: The Washington Redskins host N.Y. Giants in a game that will bring out the best of both teams. What is the best NFL pick for this game? Join in and find out!

NY Giants (-2)  vs. Washington Redskins 1:00 ET
In the 11 weeks of NFL football, the LONE RANGER now stands 10-1 ATS in his contrary selection. If you are like much of the betting public, you are staunchly entrenched on the NY Giants in this game, after seeing them nearly defeat the New England Patriots two weeks ago, as our BIG DOG OF THE WEEK. Combined with the Washington Redskins’ no-show in a (44-16) loss last week to the undefeated Carolina Panthers, you are right! It is very hard to back the Redskins this week, as they host their division rival, NY Giants, for this 1:00 ET kick. After all, the G-Men have won and covered 5 consecutive games against the Redskins, including (32-21) in a home-field victory on September 27th. It was the 4th consecutive time NY has won by double digits in this series matchup.

The last time the public viewed the NY Giants, they held a (26-20) home field lead over the New England Patriots with the clock winding down.  Then, QB Brady led another game winning drive in the final seconds that culminated with a lengthy FG by Gostkowski for a (27-26) New England win. Those who viewed the Washington Redskins last week were not as impressed. In their (44-16) blasting by the undefeated Panthers, Washington was outrushed 39/142 to 12/14 (that’s right, Washington ran the ball only 12 times for 14 yards!). In fact, the Redskins were outgained for the contest, 368-186. Combined with 5 TOs by Washington, the game was completely out of control.

There is little doubt that the Washington Redskins’ rush defense has totally dissolved in the last 5 weeks. They are now being outrushed 890-186 in that timeframe. Ouch! It is yet another reason why the public is wont to back the Skins. Matching that rushing futility is the Giants’ defense which is allowing 421 YPG (2nd worst to only New Orleans) and 6.2 defensive YP play. That is no more of a bargain than the Redskins’ rushing numbers.

Odds Overview
Working in our favor is a huge home/road dichotomy favoring the Redskins. Consider that this season Washington is 4-1 SU on this field, winning and covering each of their previous 4 outings at home. They have won those games by an average of 9 PPG, outgaining the opposition 404-324. Meanwhile, however, in the last 4 divisional road games for the Giants, they have been outscored 112-54.

There is enough evidence, along with public support for the NY Giants, that we can comfortably put the Washington Redskins on our ticket. In so doing, we will put the NFL odds in our favor. I invite you to join me on my NFL pick on the Washington Redskins as a home underdog. Their victory will lift the NFL LONE RANGER PICK OF THE WEEK to 11-1 ATS.
