We barely missing cashing a pair of NFL Picks on Saturday’s slate and after the Christmas holiday, one game is left before the final week of the regular season. The game between the Cowboys and Lions filled with prop betting value.
Lions O/U 17 ½ points
With the Cowboys already in the playoffs, it’s tough to tell how they will play this game. They have already clinched home field and their division and while they are a young team and will likely keep pushing, there is always a chance they let off the gas ever so slightly.
Their defense has been really amped up lately, but they allowed 20 points to the Bucs and they could give up that much or more to the Lions here at home.
Matt Stafford is from the Dallas area and he could be amped up as well heading back home for a primetime matchup against his former hometown team. Stafford is obviously banged up, but the Lions have motivation as well. A win here would put some breathing room in between the Lions and Packers in the NFC North and precedence is on their side.
Stafford has also played really well in both games from Dallas in his career. In the first game in 2011 he dropped two touchdowns and 34 points on the Cowboys and in the playoffs two years ago he threw for 323 yards in a playoff loss.
If Dallas lets up in any way here, I see Stafford and company getting to 20 points or more in this one. Why Bovada has his NFL Odds so low is a mystery to me, but the Cowboys’ team total has a nice chance to go over as well. With that in mind, taking the Lions’ team total over as well as the game total could be a very profitable venture.
Last week’s game was kind of fluky for the Lions. I expect a bounce back game and a strong showing from the Lions offense.
