We’re going to take a look at the New York Giants 2015 NFL future odds on their win total. Will they go over or under the posted total of 8.5 wins this season?

Giants in Three Year Playoff Drought
The New York Giants are coming off a disappointing 2014 season that saw them go 6-10. It was an extremely weird year in which they won three games in a row twice and also had a seven game losing streak sandwiched in between. As a matter of fact, they’ve now gone a combined 22-26 the last three seasons following their 2013 Super Bowl win over New England, and have failed to make the playoffs on each of those occasions.

2015 Giants Future Win Total
The Giants futures show their win total set at 8.5 in the majority of major sportsbooks. The lone exceptions are at BetOnline and JustBet which each have a posted win total of 8.0.

2015 Schedule

Oct. 4 at Buffalo Bills

Oct. 11 San Francisco 49ers

Oct. 19 at Philadelphia Eagles

Oct. 25 Dallas Cowboys

Nov. 1 at New Orleans Saints

Nov. 29 at Washington Redskins

Dec. 6 New York Jets

Dec. 14 at Miami Dolphins

Dec. 27 at Minnesota Vikings

Jan. 3 Philadelphia Eagles

The Giants opponents on their upcoming 2015 schedule had a cumulative regular season record of 89-102-1 (.464) in 2014. They’ll be facing just three teams (Dallas, New England, and Carolina) that qualified for last season’s playoffs, and that includes the Carolina Panthers who did so by winning their division with a 7-8-1 record. As a matter of fact, just six of their sixteen games will be versus opponents that posted a winning record last year. There’s no doubt that this is a less than imposing slate solely based on how their upcoming opponents fared a season ago. However, the Giants will be facing several teams that underachieved in 2014, and who I expect to bounce back this year.

Question Marks
You can certainly make a case for the Giants having a winning season, and even being a playoff contender for that matter. There are just too many question marks for me to place faith in either of those possibilities occurring. How will former all pro wide receiver Victor Cruz bounce back from a devastating knee injury that forced him to miss the final ten games of last season? How will the recent finger amputation of all pro caliber defensive stalwart Jason Pierre-Paul affect his on field performance in 2015? Will the inexperience at safety be a cause for concern?

Final Analysis
There’s no doubt that Giants are solid at the offensive skilled positions. Eli Manning should be more comfortable in his second year of running offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo’s system. The cornerback tandem of Prince Amukamara and Dominique Rogers-Cromartie is certainly in capable hands with no pun intended. My professional opinion is that glaring question marks far outweigh the positives. I’m going to go under the total of 8.5 wins for one of my NFL picks. Bookmaker gives me the best number in addition to a terrific price regarding this wager.
