There's never any love lost when the Seahawks and 49ers do battle on the gridiron. Expect more of the same with San Francisco set to host its divisional rival as a slight NFL betting favorite.

Odds Overview
NFL odds could easily shift through Thursday's kickoff, but for now the 49ers are barely favored at a lot of the major sportsbooks. It's a tight spread though, as most sites only have a line of one or two available. Some books even have a pick'em line available.

Considering how tough-nosed both of these teams are, especially on the defensive side of the ball, it's nothing new to see a total as low as 40.5 points. We wouldn't be surprised to see that number continue to shrink, as points should be extremely difficult to come by in this one.

San Francisco 49ers
Weeks 7 and 9 (the 49ers had a BYE in Week 8) were not kind to Colin Kaepernick and company, as they lost to Denver on the road and then St. Louis at home.

Since the loss to the Rams, though, San Francisco has reeled off three straight wins to improve its record to 7-4 on the season. The victories have come over the Saints, Giants and Redskins, with the 49ers just holding on to beat the Redskins 17-13 this past weekend.

It wasn't pretty, and at one point it looked like San Francisco may end up losing. However, Carlos Hyde's touchdown run with just under three minutes to go was the difference maker. If it wasn't for the 49ers' fantastic defensive effort throughout, who knows what could have happened.

The defense really stepped up, harassing RGIII throughout and holding the Redskins to a measly 213 total yards of offense. The San Francisco offense didn't light it up by any means (312 yards), but Kaepernick made enough plays to guide his team to the win. He finished 20-of-29 for 256 yards with one touchdown and one pick. The run game, despite reaching the end zone, was held to just 66 yards on 29 total carries, while WR Anquan Boldin stood out with nine catches for 137 yards and a score.

But back to that defense. The 49ers are now ranked second against the pass and seventh against the run, which has more than made up for their inconsistent play offensively. Will they be able to shut down an always dangerous Russell Wilson this week?

Seattle Seahawks
The mood around Seattle wasn't too good back in the middle of October, but you had to figure it was only a matter of time before the Seahawks figured it out.

They've now won four of their last five games ahead of Thursday night's meeting with one of their biggest rivals.

Week 12 was very impressive for Seattle, as they completley shut down Arizona's offense on their way to a 19-3 home win. The Seahawks easily covered the NFL betting lines as 6.5-point favorites.

The Seahawks held the Cardinals to just over 200 yards of offense, while they leaned on Wilson's decision-making and playmaking ability heavily (as usual) when they had the ball. Wilson was 17-of-22 for 211 passing yards and one touchdown, and he also ran 10 times for 73 yards. It was as efficient of a quarterback performance as you're going to see.

So here we are ahead of Thanksgiving day. Both the Seahawks and 49ers are rounding into form at the right time, and now they collide with a key division win up for grabs.

NFL Pick
Though the 49ers have been looking very good defensively, we still believe the Seahawks are the better team overall, thus making them our preferred play for Thanksgiving.

He may not have a lot of help around him, besides Lynch of course, but Wilson has a knack for making things happen, and we think he'll find a way to exploit San Francisco's defense in Week 13. We trust him far more than we do Kaepernick.

Toss in Lynch's hard-nosed running style and a defense that's finding its dominant streak again, and as for our NFL pick we believe Seattle will grab the W (and ATS cover) this week. Good luck!
