Although no news has broken on whether or not the starters from both teams will play, the NFL odds favor the Seahawks on the road at -4 vs. the Raiders in their final preseason game of 2014.

Big QB questions
For both clubs, the quarterback situation is a troublesome one this summer. For the Seahawks, Russell Wilson has looked amazing this preseason, however his backups have been anything but spectacular. Both Tavaris Jackson and Terrelle Pryor have looked underwhelming this offseason, and seeing as it’s the final preseason game, those two guys will probably take on all of the snaps under center this Thursday.

Last season the Seahawks had Brady Quinn to go along with Jackson to back up Wilson, and after Wilson’s one series in the final preseason game of 2013, those two guys took over. Now insert Pryor in for Quinn, and it might get ugly once the Seattle starters come out of the game. So far this preseason, Pryor and Jackson are a combined 20/39, with only 259 passing yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions.

While the Seahawks are trying to decide who their backup will be, the Raiders might be having a change of heart on their QB situation. Matt Schaub is reportedly dealing with some elbow soreness, and has not looked good at any point in the preseason,

However Derek Carr might get the start here against the Seahawks, and if he plays well, it might not be too farfetched to believe he could start the season as the Raiders’ quarterback. Carr has performed well this preseason, however he did not play in the third preseason game due to a couple of different injuries. Coach Dennis Allen may be wise to push harder to play Carr if he is ready. It might be the only thing that could save Allen’s job this season, because Schaub is not the answer.

The Sharp Pick
Last season these two played in the final week of the preseason, and the Seahawks ended up winning the game, 22-6. However the quarterback personnel this time around is much different. The Raiders were playing Pryor and now he is on the Seahawks trying to just make the roster, and Seattle had Quinn. Assuming Schaub does not play this week, starting Carr might be enough for the Raiders to get the win. However either way, he’ll have to score the ball, something Oakland has been pretty bad at so far this offseason.

That being said, the under looks like it could be a pretty good play here. Although the under was not that good of a NFL pick at this week last preseason, this game was one that went under in 2013. Neither team has much of an offense outside of their starters, and even with their starters, the Raiders are still pretty bad. The last three meetings between these two teams including the preseason have gone under the total, and so far this preseason, the Seahawks are 2-1 cashing the under.
