Every half point makes a difference in the grand scheme of things.

As for the game's total, it's currently at 206. We know the Suns like to push the pace, but it should be noted that the Heat have been playing at a higher tempo lately as well.

Check out Monday's top NBA Picks ATS.

Miami Heat
Just when it looked like the Heat had begun to turn things around with consecutive wins, they then went and lost two straight, falling to New Orleans on the road and then Atlanta at home. The worst part about the loss to the Hawks, however, was that a number of starters were missing for Atlanta, including Jeff Teague, Al Horford and DeMarre Carroll. Meanwhile, the Heat were at full strength yet still were unable to get a win.

Such has been the life for Miami this season. The Heat are 25-33 overall, going 10-17 at home and 15-16 on the road interestingly enough. There hasn't been much of a home-court advantage, if at all, for Miami, which is strange considering how good they were in South Beach last season. Then again, the Heat also had the best basketball player on the planet within their ranks, so that of course helped.

Despite the overall disappointment this season, all is not lost for Miami. There are a few things going their way: the Heat are in the awful Eastern Conference and as such still have a good chance of making the playoffs, and they should only get better and better the more Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside get integrated and comfortable. Dwyane Wade needs to stay healthy in order for the Heat to truly compete, however, and that's been a lot easier said than done thus far.

Phoenix Suns
Just like the Heat, the Suns had won two straight but were unable to keep the momentum going, instead falling to San Antonio at home on Saturday. The loss to the Spurs wasn't even close - they lost by a whopping 27 points in what had to be one of the most embarrassing defeats of the season for Phoenix.

Once at 28-20 back in late January, the Suns are now 31-29 overall, making them a poor 3-9 over their past 12 games. They've subsequently fallen behind New Orleans in the standings and now face an uphill battle to sneak into the playoffs in the competitive Western Conference. It's going to take quite the turnaround if the Suns are to make it in.

The addition of Brandon Knight hasn't exactly worked out as hoped, but we'll give Phoenix the benefit of the doubt. It takes time to work out the kinks after such a big move, so we'll have to see how things pan out over the next couple of weeks before making any bold proclamations.

NBA Pick
It's difficult to have too much confidence in the Heat, but we still think there's value on their side in this instance. It's not like the Suns have been performing at a high level either, and we think Miami will come out with urgency here tonight.

Phoenix is just 14-16 on the road this year and comes in having gone 3-7 over its last 10 games. This is a team that's struggled to adjust to its new rotation, making Jeff Hornacek's team an easy fade for now.

With our NBA Picks, let's add Miami and hope for a much better effort on both ends of the floor. With Dragic looking to stick it to his old team, back the Heat to cover the short number in South Beach.

NBA Pick: Miami Heat -1.5 at 5Dimes
