Fresh off the signing of LeGarrette Blount to add to their running back depth, the Philadelphia Eagles come into the 2017 season with a win total of 8 from the sportsbooks. Is this a number you can use to beat the NFL Odds?
Wins You Can Count On: With three of their first four games on the road, it’s tough to find a lot of sure wins for the Eagles. Their first three home games are against the Giants, Cardinals, and Redskins, but Week 8 against the Niners looks like a win and you can count the Bears in Week 12 as a win too.
Games That Could Go Either Way: However, with a win total of eight and after a 7-9 season in 2016, you have to think that about every one of the Eagles games are tossups. Especially early in that road stretch to start the season and in Weeks 11-15, where they go for a four-game road stretch in five weeks.Join The Conversation In SBR's NFL Forum & Discuss The Eagles' Schedule
Real Trouble Spots: Other than their road stretches, there are some specific spots where the Eagles have a troubling schedule. Weeks 1 and 2 could easily be losses against the Redskins and Chiefs on the road. Along with those two, they play at Carolina in Week 6, at Dallas in Week 11 after their bye and at Seattle in Week 13. With so many tossup games as well, you’re gambling with the Eagles on either side of this play.
Bottom Line: There are so many things that could go right or wrong with the Eagles this season. For that matter, there is little value in betting the over, but a 7-9 repeat season could be in line for the Eagles in a tough division. For me it's a no play, but if I had to play it, I would go with the under given their NFL Odds.
