New England Patriots’ have been dealt a rather favourable schedule, one that sets them up for a potentially big season, same as the last if not better. Join us as we rundown through the 17 weeks in NFL betting in order to serve up our win total prediction for the Patriots.

Potential for another BIG season
New England Patriots are set to ease into the NFL 2014-15 season against a rebuilding Miami Dolphins, an opening game marking a soft start that leads into a tougher middle before tapering away down the stretch against Divisional rivals. Importantly, Tom Brady has a much better defense around him this season and with Divisional rivals looking soft, bookies favour the Patriots win totals for the season to go Over 10.5 at -150. Last season, they finished with a 12-4-0 record to clinch the AFC East. Does that make The Patriots winning eleven or more games this season, a good betting pick?

Week 1 @ Miami
Week 8 saw the Patriots run away 27-17 winners in their first meeting with the Miami Dolphins last season, a game in which they successfully picked the Dolphins apart by exposing their weak pass protection. The Dolphins did take a surprise 24-20 win in the second game, but that was sorta down to luck. Fact is the Dolphins are in rebuild mode, which means the Patriots should be too much for them. This should be a straightforward win for Brady and Co.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 2 @ Minnesota
Minnesota Vikings had a whole slew of problems last season, which culminated in a 5-10-1 season. The talent pool is undeniable, namely with Adrian Peterson leaping off the page. He could have a standout game against the Patriots. Crucially, however, their QB situation is still up in the air, which makes a Vikings win improbable. NFL bettors should expect this to be a trickier game than the NFL odds would suggest, but the Patriots offense should eventually wear down a Vikings defense that’s still figuring things out in the early days of the new NFL season.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 3 vs. Oakland
Oakland were left to prop up the AFC West Division last season with a 4-12-0 record. Alas, a similar fate is expected this season with win totals set at 4.5 across NFL betting markets. Expect Patriots to be one of the teams to heap misery on the Raiders.
NFL Pick: Back-to-back Wins

Week 4 @ Kansas City
Kansas City Chiefs present the first real test for the Patriots on the new season. Granted, there have been significant changes to the team since their surprise season last year, but that’s no reason to write them off, as bookies would seem to with win totals chalked at 8.5 on the season. Alex Smith is a no-nonsense quarterback that could give Tom Brady a run for his money, especially with home advantage on his side. So this one is a bit of a toss-up – it could go either way. Forced to make a call, however, we’re giving it to the Chiefs. But we could be wrong, which is ok.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 5 vs. Cincinnati
Cincinnati Bengals won the AFC North with an 11-5-0 record last season, a run of form that included a surprise 13-6 win over the Patriots in (ironically) Week 5. Odds makers have Bengals sat on 8.5 win totals in NFL futures betting which is appropriate. As far as this clash is concerned, the Bengals will be confident but Patriots will want some revenge.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 6 @ Buffalo
Many NFL bettors are expecting the Bills to pull off some surprise wins this season. Does that include the Patriots? There is the divisional rivalry to consider as a factor. As well, the Bills have shored up their bench with some interesting new prospects. Still, the Patriots remain a cut above. Should be an interesting clash.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 7 vs. New York
The Jets were a tough team to get a grip on. Last season, while they pulled off some stellar wins they also pulled off some duds. It was a tale of two seasons from game to game. This season, offense remains a big question and, thus, expectations are low in NFL betting markets. This matchup should be a straightforward win for Brady and his Patriots.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 8 vs. Chicago
Chicago Bears are a talented squad. Downside, they are inconsistent and Jay Cutler is a dubious No.1 quarterback at best. What’s more, the Bears have a tough schedule to start the season on. By the time they come up against the Patriots, they could be bruised and shaken, namely Cutler who’ll have all to do against a Patriots secondary that is built to rattle him.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 9 vs. Denver
Most NFL bettors will have this game circled on their calendars. Last season, the pair went 1-1 with each winning at home. If both live up to the hype this season, it should be much of the same. Of course, this could go either way. Can’t put an away win past Manning. But, if we must make a call, we’re going with Patriots to win at home by a narrow margin.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 10 - BYE

Week 11 @ Indianapolis
Andrew Luck will relish the challenge the Patriots present. He’ll look to take the measure of Tom Brady on the field just as he did with Peyton Manning last season. But can he do it? In past meetings he’s been unlucky against the Patriots, including the post season clash in which he was spanked 43-22 by the Patriots.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 12 vs. Detroit
The Detroit Lions set expectations high in the preseason with a 40-9 win over the Patriots. But when the 2013-14 season actually got underway, they proved a huge disappointment, finishing 7-9-0 and third overall in the NFC North. One of their biggest issues was defense. They lost too many close games. Have those been solved? It’s hard to say as yet. If they have however they could potentially surprise this season, making this a tough game to call.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 13 @ Green Bay
Green Bay Packers are expected to bounce back with a solid season. Their quietly impressive offseason is the talk of NFL betting circles, which has forced their win totals up to 10.5 across sportsbooks. Aaron Rodgers should prove a stern test for the Patriots secondary and their improved defense can certainly harass Brady.

NFL Pick: Loss

Week 14 @ San Diego
There’s a lot to say about the Chargers offense. Defense is another matter entirely, more porous than a sieve as it is.  Tom Brady should run riot here.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 15 vs. Miami
Week 15 should be a repeat of week 1 with Brady and Co cruising down the stretch towards clinching the AFC East Divisional title. The Patriots have home advantage on a chilly Sunday in December, which means Dolphins freeze their tushes here.
NFL Pick: Win

Week 16 @ New York
The Jets had a solid 6-2-0 record at home last season, which augurs well for them this season. They could give the Patriots a good challenge, even to the point of sneaking a “W” into the column. If there is going to be a late shocker, this could be one such game that goes against expectations, especially if the Jets somehow get into the playoff picture.
NFL Pick: Loss

Week 17 vs. Buffalo
The final game of the regular season marks the third straight clash against a divisional rival. The Bills lost both meetings last year. They opened their season with a 21-23 defeat to the Patriots and closed the season on a 20-34 defeat. They’d love to finish the term on a high, but everything hinges on where they are at by this time of the season. If odds were any indication, they’ll already be dusting off their golf clubs mentally.
NFL Pick: Win

NFL Betting Verdict
Odds makers have the Patriots chalked at Over 10.5 at -150 (the under is trading at +120). By our adventurous predictions, the Patriots should go over and finish with a 12-4 record, give or take one game. So we confidently stand by recommending you take the Over as one of your NFL Futures betting pick.
