There is an extremely meaningful conflict in the AFC North and it involves Pittsburgh playing at Cincinnati. We will cover all aspects of this contest and supply you with numerous betting options.

In spite of Pittsburgh and Baltimore appearing to have more overall talent, it is Cincinnati who is first place in the division. The Bengals have played more consistently over 60-minute segments in building 4-1 & ATS.

Pittsburgh is off their most complete team performance of the season in drubbing Atlanta 41-17. The Steelers offense was more cohesive, in sync and didn't have the minor breakdowns that have plagued them all season.

This Bengals bunch has shown more courage, with two double-digit come from behind wins over the Colts and Dolphins in the second halves. Andy Dalton has played with more maturity and confidence and he has an outstanding collection of playmakers around him, that have been mostly healthy which has led to their success. This has helped Cincinnati to rank 4th in the NFL in scoring at 30.6 PPG.

In particular, A.J. Green and Tyler Boyd are having big seasons and RB Joe Mixon is also playing outstanding football.

The Cincinnati defense might need to either wake up earlier for games or better anticipate what their opponents might do. The Bengals are allowing 26 PPG, but only 8.2 PPG have come after halftime.

Pittsburgh has scored at least 30 points in three of their last four games. We know about Antonio Brown and the importance of JuJu Smith-Schuster. But what has made this Steelers offense so dangerous is the dynamic duo at tight end of Vance McDonald and Jesse James.

Let's be honest, the Pittsburgh linebackers and secondary are nothing special. The Steelers ticket to success is pressure and when they force the opposing quarterback to make quick decisions, they reduce their exposure to big plays surrendered.

The NFL odds have the Steelers as 2.5-point road underdogs with a total of 52.5. Even though it is incredibly tempting to go against Pittsburgh against Cincinnati, the Steelers are 23-5 SU and 20-7-1 ATS in the Queen City. The Bengals roots go back to 1968 as an AFL member. Going back as far as we could, the current total is highest we could find anywhere, with the previous highest level being 49, which happened in both 2015 clashes, which split the two totals.

For NFL picks, normally this would an Under play, given the circumstance, but both offenses are hot and defenses are not so hot, thus, the OVER gets the call. Make it Pitt 31-28.

The Steelers and Bengals Teasers and First Half Wagering

This is what a 6-point teaser on the side and total would look like for this contest.

  • Side Teaser: Pittsburgh +8.5 or Cincinnati +3.5
  • Totals Teaser: Over 46.5 or Under 58.5

Pittsburgh gets the definite call on one half of the teaser since they are 24-3-1 at Cincy and 73-13 against a teaser line versus teams averaging seven or more passing yards per attempt.

If for some reason this battle royal is more defensive than expected, the Over 46.5 on the teaser supplies us some shade.

As far as the first half, the Bengals early defensive woes should have the total go OVER 26.5. We will also back the 'Cats since when teams like Pitt face a 1st half line that is +1.5 to -1.5, after a win by 10 or more points, against an opponent who only scored three points or less in the first half of their last game, they are 10-33 ATS.

The Falcons vs. Steelers Side Prop Bets

* Steelers vs. Bengals - First Score Of Game
This fits the ESPN C'Mon Man! Two high-powered offense versus a pair of so-so defenses, give me the touchdown at -200. C'Mon Man!

* Steelers vs. Bengals - OVER/UNDER Scoring Totals
Pittsburgh at OVER 25.5 is the play. Keep an eye on to see by chance if Cincy's total of 27.5 comes down, that might be worth a look also at that point.

* Steelers vs. Bengals - Highest Scoring Half
I will go with the first half, having talked about in a different manner before. Watch for about 35 points after two quarters before the defenses make adjustments and a lower score ensues.

* NFL Week 6: Quarterback to have Most Passing Yards (Top 3 Finish)
Ben Roethlisberger is listed 5th at +240 odds. Let's make the call on him to surpass Jameis Winston and Tom Brady, who are both at +180 and finish no worse than third.

* NFL Week 6: Receiver to have Most Receiving Yards (Top 3 Finish)
Julio Jones is the favorite and that seems justified against Tampa Bay's secondary. Antonio Brown is the third choice at +280, but why can't A.J. Green +360 knock out Mike Evans to also finish in the Top 3?
