Opening Odds & Line Movement
Open: -3.5 -105 at Pinnacle
The NFL odds favor the Panthers, who opened at -3.5 on the road, but the line has moved all the way to -5.5 in half-point increments. The Panthers jumped on Atlanta at home by 21 points in the first quarter and never looked back in a 38-0 shutout, and while QB Cam Newton gets the attention, the Carolina defense was excellent. The Panthers are third in yards allowed and fourth in points allowed, and they'll get a stiff test on Sunday against the Giants, who beat the Dolphins 31-24. QB Eli Manning was 27-of-31 for 337 yards and four touchdowns, two to WR Odell Beckham Jr., who caught seven passes for 166 yards. Look for the Panthers to put CB Josh Norman on Beckham, and they have to get in Manning's face. But furthermore, the Giants are last in yards allowed, and 20th in points scored. Can they even slow down Newton and the Panthers' big-play offense?

The Panthers have a few injuries to deal with CB Bene Benwikere is gone for the season with a broken leg. Fellow CB Charles Tillman has a partially torn ACL, but hasn't been ruled out for Sunday yet and practiced in full on Wednesday. TE Greg Olsen expects to play through a knee injury, while TB Jonathan Stewart will sit with a foot injury. How many Panthers are playing through injuries because they're 13-0? That question will be raised as the Panthers keep winning.

The Giants hope that T Ereck Flowers can come back from an ankle injury. However, it doesn't look likely that LB Devon Kennard can play through an ailing hamstring.

The Panthers are 10-3 ATS, covering in five of their six games on the road. The Giants are 7-5-1 ATS, going 3-3 ATS at home. The total is set at 48, and both teams have gone over eight times this season.

Carolina is 5-4 SU and ATS in nine meetings with the Giants, going 3-2 SU and ATS in five games on the road in New York (technically, New Jersey).
