Will RGIII be the starting quarterback this weekend? We'll have to wait and see, but we have to make a pick for this matchup regardless.

Odds Overview

The Redskins are favored by either 6.5 or 7 points. It all depends on which sportsbook you use. Coming in, Washington is 3-10 SU and 3-10 ATS, while Atlanta is 3-10 SU and 5-8 ATS.

The O/U for Sunday afternoon is at 51, with the OVER going 7-6 for both teams so far this season.

Washington Redskins

Surely it's only a matter of time before Mike Shanahan is relieved of his duties.

What a terrible year it's been for the Redskins. They head into Sunday's game owning a five-game losing streak, while backers have been left shaking their head with the team failing to cover a spread in any of the defeats.

Last week was by far the most humiliating loss of them all though. Washington lost 45-10 at home to Kansas City and this one was over in a hurry. Have you seen the picture of the Redskins stadium at the half? Enough said.

There's just nothing Washington is doing well right now. The read-option offense hasn't been working lately and the defense can't stop anyone. The Redskins rank #22 in total defense ahead of Week 15.

With the season already lost, Shanahan has already pondered the thought of resting Robert Griffin III in hoping to get him completely healthy for next season. Not that Shanahan will even be around in 2014.

Atlanta Falcons

The losses are still piling up, but at least the Falcons are playing competitive football. Over the last three weeks they've lost to New Orleans by four, beaten Buffalo on the road, and fallen to Green Bay by a point.

Against the Packers, Atlanta had their chances but couldn't pull through in the fourth quarter.

Matt Ryan had 206 yards, two touchdowns and one interception, while Steven Jackson ran 15 times for 71 yards. Roddy White continued to shine, hauling in eight of his 10 targets for a team-high 74 yards. It was Tony Gonzalez (25 yards) and Drew Davis (36 yards) that caught the touchdown passes though.

Despite losing straight up yet again, it was a third straight ATS cover for the Falcons, but this weekend they're being put in an unfamiliar position. They're favored by a touchdown. So far this season Atlanta is 2-4 SU and 3-3 ATS at home.

Still, if there's any team the Falcons can right the ship against, it's the Redskins. They're having even more problems, so let's see if Atlanta can get back on the winning side of things in Week 15.

NFL Pick

We're staying far away from this game when it comes to making a pick on the spread. Neither of these teams have been reliable and that's putting it nicely.

There's uncertainty surrounding the RGIII and the Redskins, who are just 1-5 ATS on the road this season, while the Falcons shouldn't really be favored by a touchdown over anybody, at least in our opinion.

Therefore, the best NFL betting value may indeed be on the OVER for your Week 15 NFL picks. Atlanta has looked better offensively now that they've gotten key weapons back and Washington, despite poor efforts over the last few weeks, can still show up and put points on the board.
