The Kansas City Chiefs are the biggest favorites on the Week 13 NFL odds board. That’s because they’re really, really good – and they’re playing the Oakland Raiders.

Jason’s 2018-19 NFL picks record through Week 11: 6-11 ATS, 2-4 Totals

There’s an eerie symmetry to the NFL this year. The New Orleans Saints, Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs have been dominant, all three riding tremendous offenses to glory. Meanwhile, at the other end of the standings, there are three 2-9 teams fighting for last place: the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders. Who’s the best team? Who’s the worst?

Whichever teams you choose, you can expect the point spread to be cavernous when one of these top Super Bowl contenders plays one of these tanking teams. Exhibit A: The Chiefs (9-2 SU, 8-2-1 ATS) will visit the Raiders (2-9 SU, 3-8 ATS) this Sunday (4:05 p.m. ET; CBS). Kansas City opened as 15.5-point road faves on the Week 13 NFL odds board, and the sharps are already unloading their wallets and/or purses on the Chiefs. Never mind that the underdogs are 53-41-3 ATS lifetime getting at least this many points.

The Money Programme

Double-digit dogs just don’t have the same betting value these days. According to the expanded consensus reports at press time, two-thirds of early bettors are on the Chiefs for Sunday’s AFC West matchup, pouring in 93.52 percent of the amount wagered. That adds up to a healthy $336.67 average bet on Kansas City. Finally, a bet size that screams sharp action.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

Aaron Rodgers details just how the Packers can make the playoffs 🙃 pic.twitter.com/Tfqr77GcWB
— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) November 26, 2018
\n\n"}[/]

If you want to put a double-digit dog in your NFL picks, you might want to support the Cardinals (2-9 SU, 5-5-1 ATS) instead. They opened at +14.5 for Sunday’s road game against the Green Bay Packers (4-5-1 SU and ATS), who are definitely not among this year’s leading teams. The Cards are pulling in 55.56 percent of bettors for this game (1 p.m. ET; Fox), although Green Bay has drawn 54.93 percent of the money.

Buffalo Chips

As for those NFL totals, go figure, the Chiefs once again have the biggest number on the board. The total for their trip to Oakland is 56 points at press time, down slightly from 56.5 at the open; this is despite 60 percent of early bettors taking the "over." Don’t put too much stock in those consensus figures just yet. Totals usually open later than spreads, and there isn’t much of a sample size to work with at the moment.

For those who prefer old-school, smashmouth football, try Sunday’s game (1 p.m. ET; CBS) between the Buffalo Bills and the Miami Dolphins. Their total opened at 38.5 points, and it’s already soared to 40.5 in early action. The "over" is 3-0 in each of Buffalo’s last three games; they’re actually performing quite well now that Nathan Peterman isn’t starting at quarterback, so bet accordingly, and may the sphere be with you.
