The Green Bay Packers opened as double-digit underdogs on the Week 8 NFL odds board. The Packers?! That’s what happens when you visit the mighty Los Angeles Rams.

Jason’s 2018-19 NFL picks record through Week 6: 4-6 ATS, 0-2 Totals

Aaron Rodgers has seen a lot of things over the past 13 years. But he never has seen this before: The Green Bay Packers opened as 10.5-point road dogs for next Sunday’s game (4:25 p.m. ET; FOX) against the Los Angeles Rams. This is the most points the Packers have ever gotten from the NFL odds with Rodgers at the helm. Holy mackinaw!

Not surprisingly, the odds are already moving toward Green Bay (3-2-1 SU, 2-4 ATS). At press time, they’re down as low as +8.5, with 68 percent of early bettors pounding the Packers. They’re coming off a bye week, while the Rams (7-0 SU, 4-3 ATS) spent this past Sunday putting the boots to the San Francisco 49ers, winning 39-10 as 8-point road faves. FiveThirtyEight projects L.A. at -9.5 against the Packers, so it may already be too late to fade the Rams for your Week 8 NFL picks, but you can always follow them later in the week if the lines keep moving.

Our Chief Weapon Is Offense

With bettors flocking to Green Bay, that leaves one double-digit dog on the Week 8 odds board: the Denver Broncos. They opened at +10.5 for Sunday’s road tilt (1 p.m. ET; CBS) with the Kansas City Chiefs, who just obliterated the Cincinnati Bengals 45-10 on "Sunday Night Football" to run their record to 6-1 SU and a perfect 7-0 ATS.

Once again, early bettors are taking the points. The consensus reports show 67 percent support for the Broncos (3-4 SU, 2-4-1 ATS), but this time, the odds are fairly stagnant, with Denver available at +10 or +11 depending on where you shop. As always, pay close attention to the vigorish no matter which side you take at which price. This is extra-important with the odds for this matchup dancing around the magic number 10.

London Falling

Switching to the NFL totals, we see big numbers for both the games we just mentioned: 56.5 for the Packers and Rams, and 55.5 for the Broncos and Chiefs. It’s always good to check the weather reports, especially when Arrowhead Stadium is involved; this information will become even more valuable as winter sets in, but for now, the forecasts for both Kansas City and L.A. call for clear skies.

If you’re more interested in smashmouth football, the Philadelphia Eagles will "visit" the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday (9:30 a.m. ET; NFLN) in London, and there’s a fairly small total of 41 points on the board. We’ll look at this matchup a little more closely later this week, but for now, we’ll tell you that the "under" is 4-1 in the past five games at Wembley Stadium, putting the brakes on a 10-3 run for the "over." Pip pip.
