The NFC East could be one of the more wide-open divisions in all of football this season, and all four teams should have a shot at winning it. The NFL Odds from Bovada have a distinct favorite, however could that favorite be severely overvalued?
Philadelphia Eagles (+130)
Philadelphia excelled under Chip Kelly last season, and even though they might be due for a slight regression, the Eagles are still the best team in this division. Their offense is going to once again put up huge numbers despite losing DeSean Jackson to a divisional rival, and while their defense struggled to stop opposing teams from throwing the ball, they should be improved in that area in 2014. However with some holes still to fill in the receiving core, the Eagles may be a bit overvalued at +130. All three teams in the division are going to be better than a year ago, and unless the Eagles get another 10 or 11 wins, they might miss out.
New York Giants (+300)
Last season’s offensive struggles might be in the rearview mirror for the Giants, and if Eli Manning and the Giants run game can have bounce back seasons, the Giants’ NFL etting Odds to win the division are quite valuable this season. If they can also ratchet up their pass rush, this team may be in for a huge season in 2014. Their defense is going to be the best one of all four teams in the division, and as long as Manning isn’t falling off quickly in front of our eyes, the Giants are going to compete for this division. His or her price is far, and I would not fault anyone for taking it.
Dallas Cowboys (+350)
However for the Cowboys, this season may be a tough one. Even though Bovada sportsbook has them at +350 to win the division this season, Dallas might not be able to stop that many people this year. They already lost middle linebacker, Sean Lee for the season once again, and even though their secondary shows potential to be better, the Cowboys will still likely not be able to stop the run that well in 2014. However their offense is good enough to keep them in contention for the division. Dallas has the best offensive line in the NFC East, and DeMarco Murray should benefit from it a lot this season. With a deep arsenal of passing weapons to go along with Murray, Tony Romo and the Cowboys could keep this race tight.
Washington Redskins (+400)
Two seasons ago the Eagles were overwhelming favorites to win the NFC East, and the Redskins were big underdogs. Washington won the East in 2012, and we could be in for another year where the Skins surprise. Robert Griffin III looks healthy and ready to go, and with a deep offense and a very undervalued defense, the Redskins could nearly triple their win total from 2013. As long as they stay healthy for the whole season, Washington will likely be better than the Cowboys, and right there with the Eagles and Giants. Griffin will have to have another season like his rookie campaign, but at 4:1, the NFL Odds are very much in play on Washington DC’s football team.
