Saturday sees seven NFL preseason contests cap off a successful Week 2 of exhibition action. The over-under is 4-5 through the first nine games. Here's a look at current NFL Odds totals.

Starters see a bit more playing time in Week 2 of the NFL preseason, causing sportsbooks to inch up totals to more normal numbers. The average total in the opener is roughly 36.5 points, but with first-teamers generally playing a full quarter and sometimes more, the listing bumps up to about 40 points on average—still a tad shy of regular-season offerings.

Panthers vs Titans (-1)
Opening total: 41.5

Online Sportsbooks initially posted a 41.5 over-under for the Panthers-Titans matchup on Saturday, the highest on the board this weekend. Slight adjustments at most online books, like at Heritage, have seen the number drop a half point hours prior to kickoff.

Why the move south? DeMarco Murray and reigning Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry led a rushing attack that rumbled home for 288 yards in the Titan’s 27-10 victory over the Chargers in the opener. They probably won’t see as much success against a Panthers’ run defense that ranked fourth in the NFL last season. In addition, reigning MVP Cam Newton and the first-team offense put in a less-than-appealing effort in the opener, and head coach Ron Rivera commented he wishes to see "three good series" this afternoon. Tight end Greg Olsen, last year’s leading receiver is out, WR Kelvin Benjamin is reportedly nowhere near game shape, and the rushing attack non-existent in their 22-19 defeat to the Ravens on Thursday.

The OVER is 11-10 in Carolina’s preseason games under Rivera.

Giants vs Bills (-2.5)
Opening total: 40

The total sits at 40.5 on Saturday morning. Rex Ryan tends to coach preseason games like it’s the regular season and was even criticized over this on Twitter last week by Colts’ owner Jim Irsay following Indy’s 19-18 victory over Buffalo in the opener. Ryan’s aggressive approach often pushes the score OVER the total; it’s 20-9 under his leadership in the preseason.

Ravens vs Colts (-2.5)
Opening total: 41

The Colts offense isn’t very deep, particularly at running back, and the offensive line is young and inexperienced. It’s been this way for a couple of seasons, and bettors see the consequences often in exhibition games. Indy rushed for 30 yards total in its 19-18 victory over the Bills last Saturday. All in all, the Colts average 17.8 points per game in its last nine preseason contests. Perhaps this is why the number has dropped to 40.5 in early trading.

Buccaneers vs Jaguars (-3)
Opening total: 41

A hot, steamy night in Florida with teams who partook in the lowest scoring games in Week 1 of the preseason; no wonder the total has slipped

Saints vs Texans (-2.5)
Opening total: 41

We saw the total dip to 40.5 at 5Dimes on Friday, but it quickly rebounded back to its initial offering of 41 within hours. The number has remained steady across most online outlets.

49ers vs Broncos (-5.5)
Opening total: 40

The over-under has fallen to 39.5 across the board as of Saturday morning, but there was some pushback earlier in the week at Bookmaker when the number dropped this low. One has to wonder how the 49ers are going to score against last year’s best defense after putting up only 13 points at home in the opener. The preseason, and NFL for that matter, are always full of surprises, though.

Chiefs vs Rams (-1)
Opening total: 39

This seems like a low offering for two coaches who tend to go OVER the total in the preseason: the Chiefs’ Andy Reid is 39-29 all-time, and the Rams’ Jeff Fisher is 44-33-1 overall. Despite this, 5Dimes is dangling 38.5 points, while the number holds firm elsewhere.
