Back at it in Week 8 as we did the splits last week but now we’re locking onto the Cardinals and a few props that involve their total points in Week 8 and where their star cornerback, Patrick Peterson, is headed. Let’s check them out and cash those prop bets!

How Many Points Will the Arizona Cardinals Score in Week 8?

Over 21.5 (-120)

Under 21.5 (-120)

The Cardinals fired their offensive coordinator Mike McCoy after their abysmal performance in Week 7 when they fell to the Broncos 45-10. The Cards will not only get a bounce due to their new OC Byron Leftwich but also had 10 days to prepare for this one in the desert. Arizona wins this game and they will score on a lackluster 49ers’ defense. Let’s not forget they put up 28 points just three weeks ago in San Francisco under the McCoy regime and will do better than that at home on Sunday. Include over 21.5 points for Arizona in your NFL picks at Bovada.

[/]{"component": "embedHTML", "code": "

\"I love B.\" @LarryFitzgerald is a fan of Byron Leftwich ;/a>
— Arizona Cardinals (@AZCardinals) October 25, 2018
\n"}[/]

What Team Will Patrick Peterson Play for on November 15th, 2018?

Arizona Cardinals -300

Philadelphia Eagles +230

New Orleans Saints +350

Pittsburgh Steelers +1200

Tampa Bay Bucs +1800

Patrick Peterson is, if not at the top, then very close to the best cornerback in the league. He plies his trade in the desert where wins come about as often as snowfall. He has asked to be freed from his football purgatory where he makes millions of dollars but has nothing on the mantle to show for it. He’s fairly cap friendly for a player of his extraordinary talents and any team that would pick him up now would pay a pro-rated share of his roughly $12 million salary. He has two years left on that deal after this season which means the team that lands him, or keeps him in Arizona’s case, would have him in their secondary during the remainder of his peak years. At 28-years-old Peterson will stay as ripe as a Georgia peach in June over the next 2 ½ seasons and any team landing him will get Pate Pete at his best, barring injury.

But where does he go? Reports have surfaced that New England is interested in pairing him with Stephon Gilmore for a dynamic duo in their defensive backfield. But I don’t see the boys at Bovada including the Patriots in their NFL odds board for this prop so the odds on favorite remains Arizona to maintain control over their seven-time Pro Bowler. It would take a godfather offer to get Arizona to comply with Peterson’s demands and because of the dearth of quality, high-caliber cornerbacks in the league, the chances of the Cardinals freeing him from his golden shackles appear slim. Arizona doesn’t exactly have an embarrassment of riches in their secondary and although some would argue they are clearly in a rebuilding phase after jumping out to a 1-6 start, they may have a price that no team will meet.

Maybe the Cardinals’ brass will soften up after this season and before the draft but right now, after a meeting between Peterson and Arizona president Mike Bidwill, it appears the waters have calmed.

Head coach Steve Wilks said, "We're not trading Patrick. That's out of the question."

We’ll take him at his word. Lay the big price and bet Peterson plays in Arizona on November 15th at Bovada.

Most Rushing Yards in a Single Game in Week 8 to 16 for David Johnson

Over 89.5 (-140)

Under 89.5 (+100)

The oddsmakers at Bovada are going to make it hurt just a little bit more if you want to play over in this prop as evidenced by the 40 cent juice. But it’s worth it, particularly because Johnson could smash that barrier this weekend against the Niners. New offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich understands Johnson has not been used properly this year and he’s going to change all that. Go over 89.5 (-140) for Johnson between Weeks 8 and 16 at Bovada.
