Week 7 is here and we’ve got a couple of NFL prop bets in our crosshairs. Let’s add to our bankroll with the sack attack in Baltimore and decide who will have more receiving yards, Julio Jones or Odell Beckham Junior, this week.

Total Sacks by the Baltimore Ravens in Week 7
  • Over 2 ½ (-130)
  • Under 2 ½ (-110)

If you take a look at Drew Brees under a dome and compare that to his stats outdoors, the numbers show a fairly sharp decline in virtually all categories when the future Hall-of-Famer is in the elements. Now factor in that he will be facing one of the top defenses in Baltimore and, well, let’s just say I wouldn’t be starting him this week in my fantasy football lineup.

The Ravens’ defense is coming off a spectacular performance against the Titans in which they sacked Marcus Mariota a ridiculous 11 times and will now bare their fangs against one of the greatest passers of all time. Brees will feel the heat all afternoon long and the push will come from the inside where he has historically had the toughest time escaping the pass rush. Expect Baltimore to crack the Saints’ line and put Brees on his back at least thrice this weekend. The NFL odds board is dealing this prop at 2 ½ and that looks like an easy threshold for these ravenous Ravens to cross. Go over 2 ½ total sacks by Baltimore this week in your NFL picks.

Who will have more receiving yards in Week 7?
  • Julio Jones (-170)
  • Odell Beckham Jr. (+130)

Atlanta’s Julio Jones is a big favorite in this matchup of the league’s elite receivers but I’m not sure that his numbers will be all that impressive considering that Matt Ryan’s Plan B options, Calvin Ridley and Mohamed Sanu, will either be out or at the very least compromised with injuries. Moreover, the Giants pass defense, currently ranked No. 10, is at least as good if not better than any the Dirty Birds have faced all season, and head and shoulders above the Bucs of last week. To make matters worse for Atlanta, New York welcomed back outside linebacker and edge rusher Oliver Vernon in Week 6 and will call upon Janoris Jenkins to blanket Jones all afternoon.

We know that Eli Manning has had issues this season. Time and tide wait for no man and Eli is no different as he enters the twilight of his career. However, he still has enough in the tank to exploit an Atlanta secondary that is more banged up than an 87’ Chevy at a demolition derby. That secondary has surrendered 11 touchdowns to date and OBJ could make this a statement game to get back in the spotlight as one of the league’s premier wideouts as Eli should have plenty of time to scan the field and target either him or Sterling Shepard.

Speaking of targets, Beckham has had 69 passes thrown to him this season which averages to 11.5 per game. And of those 69 passes, OBJ has caught 45 and averaged 84.3 yards per game. That figure should rise markedly against a porous Falcons’ defense which strongly indicates Beckham will surpass his fellow superstar Julio Jones in receiving yards and bring us the cash! Bet Odell Beckham Jr. at +130 to have more receiving yards than Julio Jones this week.
