Week 7 concludes with the final meeting of the season – barring a playoff matchup – between the NFC East rival Redskins and Eagles. Survivor Pick: Philadelphia.

Washington Redskins at Philadelphia Eagles (-4.5, 48.5)

At most of SBR’s top-rated sportsbooks, the Eagles are now the NFC favorites, and they have the best record in the conference at 5-1. Philadelphia has replaced Green Bay as the shortest-priced team in the conference in the wake of the season-ending injury to Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Washington had won five straight in this series but lost at home in Week 1 to Philly, 30-17. Carson Wentz started his MVP campaign – he’s the new betting favorite for that at Bovada – with 307 yards and three touchdowns. His counterpart, Kirk Cousins, had his worst game of the season with 240 yards passing, one touchdown, an interception at the Philadelphia goal line and two lost fumbles. So should Washington (3-2) lose this, it would essentially be three games back of the Eagles in the NFC East race because of the season sweep. The Redskins have lost four straight on Monday night, including a few weeks ago in Kansas City on a wacky ending that turned a Redskins cover into a Chiefs cover. Washington’s last MNF win was 20-17 in overtime at Dallas on Oct. 27, 2014.

  • Redskins are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Monday games.
  • Eagles are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games.

How brilliant are the Eagles looking for trading up and taking Wentz at No. 2 last year? The former North Dakota State star, who has seven touchdown passes and a 121.9 passer rating in his past two games, is tied for the NFC lead with 13 passing TDs and ranks second in the conference with 1,584 yards. Cousins, meanwhile, leads the NFC with a 106.4 passer rating and 8.44 yards-per-pass average. Have you picked up Washington running back Chris Thompson in your fantasy league yet? He is the only player in the NFL this season with at least 150 rushing yards (175) and 300 receiving yards (340). This looks very much like a shootout, especially with Washington really banged up on defense. Its top two cornerbacks, Josh Norman and Bashaud Breeland, are in doubt and good-looking rookie defensive lineman Jonathan Allen, the team’s first-round pick, has been lost for the season. This might be my favorite total pick of the week.

  • Over is 13-3 in Redskins last 16 road games.
  • Over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
