Among the games to ponder for betting NFL football this week is the AFC contest between Pittsburgh and Miami. This has the makings of getting ugly in a hurry unless the Dolphins show resolve.

The Steelers are beginning to play like the team many forecasted for NFL futures odds before the season, while Miami changed coaches and is performing like the same old Fins.

Having posted a 24-8 record in the NFL here in various articles and videos, plus doing extremely well in teaser picks, here is the current status for both teams and I will have NFL week 6 picks at the bottom.

Steelers Situation

Here is a telling quote about the Pittsburgh organization. "The standard is the standard," said Steelers linebacker Vince Williams, who led the defense in tackles for a second consecutive week while subbing for the injured Ryan Shazier. "You know we believe in that."

With full complement of weapons, Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh offense is starting to gel, which spells trouble for the entire NFL, not just Miami this week. If receiver Sammie Coates improves concentration, he and Antonio Brown are close to unstoppable. Also, Pitt offensive coaches are integrating Le'Veon Bell more into the passing game, making this offense even more treacherous.

Look for Steelers defense to blitz Miami repeatedly, not respecting the run and trying to sack the quarterback.

Dolphins Dilemma

In carefully reviewing Miami, two problems really stick out. One, Ryan Tannehill should not be starting quarterback in the NFL. Tannehill is in fifth year and still struggles to make proper reads, which is a determent on a poor team. While it is true the offensive line is below average and the running backs and wide receivers are not close to Pro Bowl level, quality quarterbacks have won with less talent around them. Though he was drafted in part for athleticism, nobody has been sacked more since 2012.

Hdamukong Suh was going to fix the Dolphins defensive front. Instead, he's just another part of an 11-man problem on defense, with cavalier attitude and being the centerpiece of the NFL's worst run defense at 150.8 yards per game.

Miami might win and cover a few games, but until these two are gone, the franchise is going nowhere.

Odds and What to Look For

The NFL odds at Intertops, an A rated sportsbook, have Pittsburgh as a rather significant 7.5-point road favorite, which is especially unsettling knowing a home date with New England is next. In truth, would love to take the Dolphins with all the points, but I see a team with a bad attitude who is 6-15 ATS since last year and 3-11 ATS after one or more spread losses against the hungry opponent.
