The 49ers are one of three winless teams remaining in the NFL along with the Browns and Giants. Expect a 0-6 record for San Francisco by Sunday afternoon. Survivor Pick: Washington.

San Francisco 49ers at Washington Redskins (-10, 46.5)

We’ll call this the Kirk Cousins Bowl. Of course, the Redskins have franchised their quarterback the past two offseasons and it’s not fiscally realistic for the team to do it again next winter as it would cost about $35 million. So Cousins should hit free agency, and many believe he could be lured to San Francisco because the 49ers’ head coach is Kyle Shanahan, Cousins’ former offensive coordinator in Washington. Don’t laugh, but San Francisco isn’t that far from being 4-1. It was dominated Week 1 by Carolina but the past four losses are each by three points or fewer. Washington comes off the bye week. The Skins could take off as of their final 12 games seven will be against teams currently ranked between 21-32 in points allowed per game. The Skins are hoping to have running back Rob Kelley (ankle) and left tackle Trent Williams (knee) on Sunday.

  • 49ers are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games in October.
  • Redskins are 9-3 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.

Washington will be without top cornerback Josh Norman for 2-4 weeks with a rib fracture. Norman isn’t as good as his mouth would indicate, but he’s still the best cover guy that the Redskins have. Without Norman in Week 4 vs. the Chiefs, the Redskins struggled in coverage. Kansas City scored no points with Norman on the field and 23 without him. That can only help Brian Hoyer, who has played a bit better than expected for the Niners. He has thrown for at least two touchdowns and 332 yards in two of the past three games. But he has zero TD throws in the other three overall. San Francisco is ranked 29th in QBR and 31st in third-down conversion percentage (29.7). Looking for a fantasy addition this week? Shanahan says that backup tailback Matt Breida will start getting more snaps. In the Week 5 OT loss at the Colts, Breida played 35 and starter Carlos Hyde took 33. Hyde had just eight carries for 11 yards against the Colts, while Breida had 10 carries for 49 yards.

  • Over is 13-6 in 49ers last 19 road games.
  • Over is 14-3 in Redskins last 17 vs. a team with a losing record.
