The Sunday night game of Week 6 looks like a total mismatch as the Giants are winless and devastated by injuries, while the Broncos come off their bye week. Survivor Pick: Denver.

NY Giants at Denver Broncos (-12, 39)

In Week 5, 10 of the 14 games (71.4 percent) in Week 5 were decided by six points or fewer, tied for the highest percentage of games decided by six or fewer points in any week in the past 25 seasons. In addition, 10 road teams won, the most in a week since Week 13 two years ago. The Giants were on the wrong side of both those statistics, dropping to a shocking 0-5 with a 27-22 home loss to the previously winless Giants. To make matters worse, receivers Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard and Dwayne Harris left with injuries. OBJ, Marshall and Harris are done for the year and Shepard is unlikely for this week. Then early this week, cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie -- a former Broncos player -- was suspended by the team after a reported confrontation with Giants coach Ben McAdoo. Meanwhile, the Broncos are about as healthy as possible coming off their bye week. They look to keep pace with the unbeaten Chiefs in the AFC West race. I normally would take 12 points for almost any club, but the Giants figure to be completely flat here with everything that’s going on around that mess of a team.

  • Giants are 2-9-2 ATS in their last 13 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
  • Broncos are 14-6-1 ATS in their last 21 games following a bye week.

New York was a below-average offensive team even with Beckham (Marshall was largely a free-agent bust), so how will the Giants even score in double digits against the NFL’s No. 1 total defense and its best against the run? It will be the first time in his four professional seasons that Beckham didn't reach at least 90 catches, 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns. Eli Manning’s top target Sunday might be undrafted free agent Roger Lewis, who has 15 career catches in his two seasons. The Giants haven’t run the ball well all season, and they certainly won’t vs. Denver, which is surrendering 50.8 yards per game on the ground and has allowed rushing TD (only club not to). The Broncos aren’t a big-play offense as they are No. 3 in rushing and inconsistent QB Trevor Siemian has just one completion of more than 30 yards this season.  This feels like a 21-7 game.

  • Under is 5-1 in Giants last 6 vs. a team with a winning record.
  • Under is 5-1 in Broncos last 6 games in October.
