Rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky had his ups-and-downs Monday for Chicago but at least gave Bears fans some hope. Now he plays on a short week in Baltimore. Survivor Pick: Baltimore.

Chicago Bears at Baltimore Ravens (-6, 39.5)

Chicago dropped to 1-4 with Monday night’s 20-17 home loss to Minnesota, a game that was memorable for two reasons: rookie No. 2 overall pick Mitchell Trubisky’s first career NFL start and the release of the “Star Wars: the Last Jedi” trailer. The trailer was much more interesting than much of the game. Trubisky completed 12 of 25 passes for 128 yards with a touchdown, interception and lost fumble. The pick was a bad one, a forced throw deep in Chicago territory that Harrison Smith easily intercepted with 2:23 left. That led to the winning field goal. But Trubisky at least showed athleticism and the ability to throw the ball somewhat downfield, neither of which former starter Mike Glennon did. Baltimore ended a two-game skid on Sunday with a 30-17 win in Oakland. That might sound impressive on the surface, but the Raiders were starting EJ Manuel at QB instead of Derek Carr. The Ravens should have won that game. They will give Trubisky issues too.

  • Bears are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 road games.
  • Ravens are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games.

One has to think it likely that Trubisky turns the ball over again as Baltimore’s defense is solid. The Bears simply are not talented enough to lose the turnover battle. They've turned it over an NFL-high 12 times in five games. Trubisky’s group of receivers might be the NFL’s worst. I mean, former first-round bust Kendall Hunter is his No. 1 guy. Baltimore has one of the NFL’s better cornerbacks in Jimmy Smith, so I’m sure he’ll take Hunter out of the game. Ravens QB Joe Flacco was terrible in his team’s two-game losing streak and really not much better vs. the Raiders, throwing for 222 yards and no TDs. At least he wasn’t picked off. Baltimore will be without running back Terrance West, but he’s simply part of a committee with Buck Allen and Alex Collins. Starting right guard Matt Skura, in the lineup for the injured Marshal Yanda, is out 2-4 weeks with a sprained right MCL.

  • Under is 4-0 in Bears last 4 games following a straight up loss.
  • Under is 6-2 in Ravens last 8 home games.
