The marquee matchup of Week 5 is clearly a rematch of last year’s NFC Divisional Round game as Green Bay visits Dallas. I say the Cowboys get payback. Survivor Pick: Dallas.

Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys (-2, 52)

The all-time series between these teams has Green Bay leading 18-17. It’s the sixth meeting between the two teams in the past five years. They split in 2016. Dallas won at Lambeau Field in Week 6, 30-16. Dak Prescott threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns – which made up for his lost fumble and interception. Ezekiel Elliott had 28 carries for 158 yards. Cole Beasley caught two scores. Aaron Rodgers threw for 294 yards, a TD and a pick but the Pack had little running game. In the playoffs, Green Bay won a thriller 34-31 in the Divisional Round at AT&T Stadium. Rodgers has made some incredible throws in his Hall of Fame career, but a 36-yard completion to tight end Jared Cook (spectacular catch as well) on third-and-20 in the final minute to get the Packers into field-goal range is in the Top 5. Mason Crosby hit the winning 51-yard field goal on the next play as time expired. I like the Cowboys here as long as Elliott isn't suspended this week from a court decision.

  • Packers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Dallas.
  • Cowboys are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games in October.

It’s not clear if Green Bay will have top running back Ty Montgomery or receiver Davante Adams after both left last Thursday’s easy win over Chicago with injuries. Adams is more likely to play even though he looked literally dead after a huge hit to the helmet. The Cowboys were torched defensively last week by the Rams but are hoping for some reinforcements. Linebacker Anthony Hitchens has missed the first four games because of a leg fracture but could return. Ditto fellow LB Sean Lee might return from a one-game absence (hamstring). Defensive tackle David Irving's four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s substance-abuse policy is over. Cornerback Chidobe Awuzie might play after missing the past two (hamstring). The Cowboys need them all as Rodgers has the third-most passing yards (1,146) in the league, and is tied with Tom Brady for the most passing touchdowns (10).

  • Over is 14-3 in Packers last 17 games overall.
  • Over is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Dallas.
