Your AFC East leader through four weeks? The Buffalo Bills! Who saw that coming? However, they are underdogs Sunday as they visit the one-win Bengals. Survivor Pick: Cincinnati.

Buffalo Bills at Cincinnati Bengals (-3, 39)

Sean McDermott has to be in the running for NFL Coach of the Year with Buffalo atop the AFC East – the Bills, of course, have the longest active playoff drought in the NFL. They ruined Survivor Pools everywhere in Week 4 by upsetting the Falcons 23-17 in Atlanta. Stephen Hauschka had two field goals of at least 55 yards with under five minutes remaining. Buffalo's defense stopped the Falcons at the Bills 10 with less than a minute remaining. Cincinnati ended a three-game losing streak and claimed state bragging rights by stomping the Browns in Cleveland, 31-7. Andy Dalton threw three of his four touchdown passes in the first half. He finished a terrific 25 of 30 for 286 yards and four scores in by far his best game of the season.

  • Bills are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
  • Bengals are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a winning road record.

Buffalo hasn’t given up more than 17 points yet this season. McDermott, the former Carolina defensive coordinator, is working wonders. The Bills forced three Falcons turnovers, and Tre'Davious White returned a fumble recovery 52 yards for a third-quarter touchdown. I probably can’t give too much credit for the Bengals holding Cleveland to just seven points, but the return of top Vontaze Burfict from a three-game suspension surely helped. These teams played in Week 11 last year in Cincinnati and the Bills won 16-12. The Bengals lost top receiver A.J. Green to injury on the first pass play of the game. The Bengals managed only five first downs while being shut out in the second half. I expect a similar score here but a Cincinnati win.

  • Under is 6-1 in Bengals last 7 games overall.
  • Under is 8-1 in Bills last 9 games on fieldturf.
