The past two seasons, the Raiders have beaten the Ravens in the waning moments of their games. But Oakland had Derek Carr then. It won’t Sunday – yet I’ll still lean Raiders. Survivor Pick: Oakland.

Baltimore Ravens at Oakland Raiders (-2.5, 39)

This line would have been at least a couple of points higher if Oakland had starting quarterback Derek Carr, but he injured his back in last week’s loss in Denver and could miss anywhere from 2-6 weeks – if it’s the latter number, I don’t see the Raiders returning to the playoffs. They already have to be thinking wild card because the Chiefs are running away with the AFC West. The injury is a transverse process fracture. When Carr broke his leg in Week 16 last year, the Raiders simply weren’t the same team as they were easily beaten Week 17 and then in the playoffs at Houston. The Ravens will be thrilled not to see him as Carr has thrown for 550 yards, seven touchdowns and one interception in two career games against Baltimore, both wins. EJ Manuel gets the start. Baltimore might have claim to worst team with a non-losing record thus far as its two wins are against Cincinnati and Cleveland – those two have combined for one victory and it was the Bengals last week over the sorry Browns.

  • Ravens are 4-14-2 ATS in their last 20 games following a straight up loss.
  • Raiders are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss.

This might be my favorite under of the week. The Raiders have managed just 10 total points in each of the past two weeks and now have to turn to Manuel, the former Buffalo first-round bust. Manuel has made only seven starts in the past three-plus seasons. He has thrown 19 touchdown passes and 16 interceptions in his pro career. Perhaps the Raiders try to run more, but they are struggling in that aspect – Marshawn Lynch should have stayed retired. He looks shot. The Ravens have looked completely inept offensively the past two weeks and Joe Flacco might be the worst non-rookie QB in the NFL right now. In last Sunday’s blowout loss to Pittsburgh, Flacco finished 31-of-49 for 235 yards and two interceptions. That a week after he was held to a career-worst 28 yards passing in a rout by Jacksonville. Flacco has led Baltimore to only one touchdown in his past 28 drives and has a pick in 10 consecutive games.

  • Under is 8-1 in Ravens last 9 games following a double-digit loss at home.
  • Under is 7-3-2 in Raiders last 12 games following a straight up loss.
