Dallas Cowboys take on the San Francisco 49ers at Levi Stadium. Find out where we line up our NFL picks for this much anticipated NFC showdown marking week 4 of the 2016 season.

Dallas Cowboys Riding Two-Game Winning Streak

The Dallas Cowboys are riding a two-game winning streak into week 4 NFL betting. They beat the Washington Redskins and the Chicago Bears, the latter of which marked their first win at AT&T of the season.

Momentum is clearly on the Cowboys’ side, so much so that bookies send the Cowboys into Levi Stadium as the nominal road faves anywhere from -1 to -2 (depending on your choice sportsbook). An indicative nod that would never have happened last season as Tony Romo sat on the side lines. The veteran quarterback might be in the same spot this year (on the side lines, for now) but Jason Garett and the Cowboys have found a hidden gem in Dak Prescott. One wonders if Prescott continues to shine in his rookie year whether we might see Romo playing again. Oh la, that is a debate for another time.

Dallas is 2-1 SU and ATS with a 5.7-point margin of victory on average and +4.3 differential versus the spread. On the road, they are 1-0 SU and ATS with a 4-point margin of victory and a + 7.5 differential versus the spread.

San Francisco 49ers Riding Two-Game Losing Streak

After starting the season with a MNF victory over the Los Angeles Rams – blanking the Jeff Fisher’s side 27-0 – the Niners regressed (not unlike last season when they started with a similar commanding win over the Minnesota Vikings only for things to go tits up immediately afterwards).

In any event, the Niners were decimated by the Carolina Panthers in week 2 and then by the Seattle Seahawks. In just those two accounts, the Niners conceded more than 80 points all while scoring just 46 points combined. Blaine Gabbert isn’t convincing the choir, if you will.

There are some improvements to the Niners under Chip Kelly and those might lead to  a  few more successful accounts on the season (all depends on the opponents) but Gabbert just doesn’t appear to be the answer for the future. So long as he’s calling the shots, the Niners are modest at best.

San Francisco is 1-2 SU and ATS with a 3.3-point losing margin on average and a +5.5 differential versus the spread. Those numbers are skewed by the 27-0 win, without which the Niners read so: 0-2 SU and ATS with a 19-point losing margin on average and a -7.8 differential versus the spread.

Cowboys vs. Niners Betting Verdict and Preview

One hand Blaine Gabbert will get a bit of a reprieve. After a couple of tough defenses in the Panthers and Seahawks, the Cowboys are less intimidating and formidable. He has a chance to do something here, but we’re not betting the farm on it.

On the contrary, the Cowboys leap off the page as the tempting NFL week 4 pick on the road. Dak Prescott has poise and composure and a maturity that belies his rookie status. The Cowboys have the momentum and the quality on offense to really run riot at Levi Stadium.
