Times, they are a changing for the Tennessee Titans as they are opening road favorites on Sunday at the two-time AFC South champion Houston Texans. Survivor Pick: Houston.

Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans (+2, 43.5)

The Titans have been the most impressive team in the AFC South thus far with a blowout win at co-division leader Jacksonville and then last week’s 33-27 victory against visiting Seattle. Tennessee did to the Seahawks what Seattle usually does to people: physically dominated for long stretches. DeMarco Murray was in question to play with a hamstring injury but did and had 115 yards and a TD on 14 carries. The Titans rushed 35 times for 195 yards. Houston had what I would call a good loss in falling 36-33 in New England in Week 3 on a late Tom Brady TD pass. I say good because rookie QB Deshaun Watson had the best game of his young career in throwing for 301 yards and two scores and rushing for 41 yards. He’s a keeper. The Texans had 417 yards of offense, the most they've put up in two years. The Titans are my pick to win this division, but I don’t think they should be favored (yet) in Houston.

  • Home team is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
  • Titans are 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 meetings in Houston.

These teams split last year. In Week 4 in Houston, the Texans won 27-20 as Will Fuller had a tiebreaking 67-yard punt return for a touchdown. Fuller also had 81 yards receiving and a touchdown. Marcus Mariota was just 13-for-29 for 202 yards with a pick. Murray rushed for 95 yards and a score. The Week 17 game in Nashville was totally meaningless as the Texans already had clinched the AFC South, and the Titans were eliminated and without an injured Mariota. They won 24-17 to finish with their first winning season since 2011 and end a five-game losing streak in the series. Matt Cassel started for Tennessee at QB.

  • Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Houston.
  • Over is 8-2 in Titans last 10 vs. AFC South.
