Who would have thought that entering Week 4 of the 2017 NFL season that the Jaguars and Jets would have as many wins as the Patriots and Seahawks combined? Survivor Pick: Jacksonville.

Jacksonville Jaguars at New York Jets (-3.5, 39.5)

Here’s something you don’t see every day: Jacksonville as a road favorite. In fact, the Jaguars haven’t been favorites in a road game since Nov. 13, 2011, when they were +3 at Indianapolis, the year the Colts were rebuilding without Peyton Manning, and won 17-3. Jacksonville was last bigger than a 3-point road favorite on Nov. 9, 2008, in Detroit and won 38-14 as 6-point favorites. It’s hard to know what the Jags are. They dominated in wins in Houston and over Baltimore in London but were routed at home by the Titans. Some thought the Jets had a realistic chance of going 0-16 this season, but that’s not happening following their shockingly easy 20-6 home win over the Dolphins last week. Josh McCown outplayed Jay Cutler.

  • Jaguars are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
  • Jets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up win.

This had the lowest opening total on the Week 4 board. Hard to trust either quarterback, Blake Bortles or McCown, although both were terrific in Week 3. Jacksonville’s 44-7 win over the Ravens was the team’s most impressive performance in the last five seasons. They outgained Baltimore a whopping 410-186, and Bortles threw four touchdown passes and didn't turn the ball over. The defense forced three turnovers and held quarterback Joe Flacco to 28 yards passing. The Jets almost had their first shutout since the final game of the 2009 season, but the Dolphins scored on the final play. McCown snapped a nine-game personal losing streak. Still, either team could easily be held to single digits here.

  • Under is 7-1 in Jets last 8 games after allowing less than 15 points in their previous game.
  • Under is 4-1 in Jets last 5 vs. AFC.
