You have to be a devout football fan/bettor or living in the state of Ohio to care much about this matchup between 0-3 teams. At least we know one of them can’t go 0-16. Survivor Pick: Cincinnati.

Cincinnati Bengals at Cleveland Browns (+3, 40)

At least fans in Cleveland have the NBA’s Cavaliers and MLB’s Indians because it’s going to be another very long football season for the Factory of Sadness. That the Browns are winless is no surprise; Cincinnati is way too talented to be 0-3. Coach Marvin Lewis is clearly in his last season. He made a change at offensive coordinator following a Week 2 loss to Houston and the Bengals played much better in Week 3 but blew a 21-7 third-quarter lead in Green Bay and lost 27-24 in overtime. There’s good and bad news regarding two key Bengals players: starting linebacker Vontaze Burfict will return this week following a three-game suspension, but former Pro Bowl tight end Tyler Eifert is going to miss several weeks with a back injury. One has to wonder is his career might be over. Cincinnati has won five straight in this series, all by double digits. I see no reason why that should change. This might be my favorite play of the week.

  • Bengals are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 meetings.
  • Browns are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 home games.

This has one of the lowest totals on the board. The Browns are predictably struggling on offense behind second-round rookie QB DeShone Kizer. He might be a good pro someday, but he’s just not ready yet. In addition, in the five-game losing streak in this series the Browns have topped 10 points just once. Cincinnati had just nine combined points the first two weeks under former OC Ken Zampese. Quarterbacks coach Bill Lazor was promoted to OC after Zampese was canned and the Bengals played a great first half in Green Bay with 21 points before being limited to only three points after intermission.

  • Under is 6-0 in Browns last 6 home games.
  • Under is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings.
