Pacific teams hate playing those 1 p.m. ET starts so it's a nice break for the Seahawks with the later kickoff in a rare trip to Nashville.

Seattle Seahawks at Tennessee Titans (-3, 42.5)

The Seahawks and Titans are very similar teams (both 1-1) in that their coaches want to win with power running games and good defenses. This is nearly a flip of the coin. Survivor Pick: Tennessee.

Seattle is very lucky to be 1-1 considering it has scored one touchdown thus far and Russell Wilson is getting little protection from his porous offensive line. The thousands of people who had the Seahawks as their Survivor Pool choice last week at home against San Francisco were sweating big-time, but the Hawks pulled out a 12-6 win. They already might have a new starting running back in rookie Chris Carson. He's averaging 2.6 yards per rush after contact this season, second best in the NFL. Eddie Lacy is an afterthought. Speaking of running backs, has Derrick Henry supplanted DeMarco Murray as the Titans' No. 1? Murray was dealing with a tight hamstring during the second half of the Titans' Week 2 win over the Jaguars and Henry ended up rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. Murray is being  called day-to-day, as is rookie WR Corey Davis (hamstring).

  • Seahawks are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 road games.
  • Titans are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games after accumulating more than 350 total yards in their previous game.

Seattle has had the best overall defense in the NFL for about the past five years and that unit has been strong in 2017 in allowing just 26 combined points. Giving up nine to the 49ers isn't anything to write home about, but holding the Packers to 17 in Lambeau is excellent. Alas, the Seahawks only scored nine vs. the Pack. Here's guessing the losing team scores 16 points in this one. That was the case when the Titans lost Week 1 vs. Oakland and won Week 2 in Jacksonville. The reason I like the under here is simply the game plan from Pete Carroll and Mike Mularkey: conservative and clock-eating all-around.

  • Under is 6-1 in Seahawks last 7 games in September.
  • Under is 6-2 in Titans last 8 games following a straight up win of more than 14 points.
