The Sunday night games this season have been rather uncompetitive. That looks likely to change this week as Oakland visits Washington.

Oakland Raiders at Washington Redskins (+3.5, 54)

If you believe the oddsmakers, Sunday night's game between Oakland and Washington will be the highest-scoring of the week as it has easily the top total on the board. Survivor Pick: Oakland.

This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2013, and the first of four games the Raiders will play this season against NFC East opponents. Raiders QB Derek Carr is an early MVP candidate as he leads the NFL's highest-scoring team. Last week in a 45-20 blowout of the Jets, Carr finished the game with a 136.6 quarterback rating (the third highest of his career), throwing for 230 yards and three TDs on 23-of-28 passing (82.1 percent). Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for nearly 5,000 yards last season but hasn't gotten it going yet. However, his running game carried the load with 229 yards -- the highest single-game total in the NFL this year -- in last week's win at the Rams. Washington will attempt to earn its first home win against the Raiders since defeating the then-Los Angeles Raiders, 10-6, on Sept. 14, 1986.

  • Raiders are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games after scoring more than 30 points in their previous game.
  • Raiders are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. teams with a winning record.

Whom do you stop on the Raiders? Amari Cooper is their No. 1 receiver, yet it was Michael Crabtree with three TD catches last week. Marshawn Lynch is the No. 1 tailback, but it was Jalen Richard with a few big plays last week out of the backfield. Carr has weapons galore. The Raiders have yet to turn the ball over and have the best point differential through two games (plus-35). Over the past three seasons, the Redskins are 15-2-1 when rushing for at least 90 yards as a team and 3-13 when they don't. Not a fan of either defense: Oakland ranks 18th overall and Washington 27th. That's a high total, but each team should have little trouble reaching 27 points -- and it won't end in a 27-27 tie.

  • Over is 9-4 in Raiders last 13 games overall.
  • Over is 8-3 in Redskins last 11 home games.
