Here is something that has never been said before: "Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers." It still feels weird not saying San Diego.

Kansas City Chiefs at Los Angeles Chargers (+3, 47.5)

No team in the past couple of seasons has found more inventive ways to lose close games than the Bolts. How will the Chargers manage to top themselves with Kansas City in town? Survivor Pick: Kansas City.

When undrafted free agent Younghoe Koo, a native of South Korea, won the Los Angeles Chargers' kicking job in training camp, it was one of the feel-good stories around the NFL. However, the Chargers might be 2-0 instead of 0-2 if not for Koo. In the final seconds of the Chargers' Week 1 loss in Denver, he had a 44-yard potential tying attempt blocked. Maybe his fault (too low), maybe not. In the Chargers' official L.A. debut last week, Koo pushed a potential winning 44-yard field goal wide right as the Bolts lost to Miami 19-17. The former Georgia Southern product is 1-for-4 overall. Coach Anthony Lynn pondered bringing in competition this week but is giving the rookie one more shot. The Chiefs, meanwhile, might have the NFL's best early-season resume with wins over the Patriots and Eagles and are one of three teams at 2-0 atop the AFC West. Kansas City has won the last six meetings against the Bolts.

  • Chiefs are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 road games.
  • Chiefs are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.

The Chargers' offense has played well thus far. Philip Rivers set a franchise record with his 52nd 300-yard passing performance last week and is completing 73.6 percent of his passes for 523 yards and four scores. Melvin Gordon has two TDs and has caught 12 passes out of the backfield. Keenan Allen blew out his ACL in Week 1 last week vs. the Chiefs but looks great with 14 catches for 135 yards and a TD. This is a good team, it just keeps finding ways to shoot itself in the foot. The Chiefs' defense hasn't played all that well yet -- ranking 29th overall -- but the offense is humming behind rookie running back Kareem Hunt and his five touchdowns. He leads the NFL with 229 rushing yards and has added 126 receiving. Alex Smith is the AFC's top-rated passer (134.1). I see no reason why this isn't a shootout.

  • Over is 4-0 in Chiefs last 4 road games.
  • Over is 6-2 in Chargers last 8 vs. AFC West.
