Your ever-friendly handicapper and betting expert are ready to provide my best NFL football picks for Week 2. Based on the results you might want to take a few minutes to look these over after 3-0 start.

Believe me, I'm not shouting from the mountain top saying how great I am, because once you start to think you are something in this business, the gambling gods are very skilled in the evening the score.

Very simply, Week 1 had a lot quite a few opportunities, a large number of people I know did well, thus, it was not brain surgery, it was making NFL betting picks. Here is what I have this week.

Texans Exact Measure of Revenge
Professional athletes hate being embarrassed or disrespected. Last year Kansas City came to Houston and laid out the Texans 30-0 in Wild Card contest. That had to sting. Houston is seemingly a better team with the additions of Brock Osweiler, RB Lamar Miller, and rookie receiver Will Fuller.

The Chiefs tremendous defense from a year ago is without three players who made huge contributions last season. My belief is the change in personnel along with the motivation will be the difference in this AFC affair. Disrespect at this level fuels the fire, along with each squad in a different place from the personnel standpoint.

With Houston a short home favorite and owning 12-3 ATS record as a favorite since 2014, let's stand tall with the Texans to win by eight or more points at NRG Stadium.

New Orleans Gives Giants All They Can Handle
New Orleans had Oakland beat and let them off the hook permitting 22 fourth quarter points. Coach Sean Peyton has kept his job through thick and thin in the bayou partly because he is a wise offensive coach and has had a good understanding of his players.

In the NFL, winning is the payoff and the Saints have now played five games of football since August and have yet to walk off the field as winners. Obviously, the preseason does not count for much, but when players lose week after week without a reward, they lose an edge.

This is where Peyton comes in and this week becomes ultra-important for his squad. The New York Giants are arguably better than New Orleans and while the secondary is not in good shape, the Saints offense along with a couple forced turnover can keep the visitor within five points.

Lastly, when the G-Men are off Dallas win and taking on the opponent off SU loss as a favorite, they are 2-9 ATS. Three-point outcome either way.

Buffalo Ground Jets
Buffalo is off its worst offensive showing in a decade, gaining just 160 yards against Baltimore. This alone should get the troops going for Rex Ryan and especially OC Greg Roman, who assembled a faulty plan and called the plays.

With this being a division game and both clubs in search of the first victory, the sense of urgency will be higher than normal on a Thursday night affair. Buffalo has had the Flyboys number, winning five in a row and beating the NFL odds each time.

Look for the Bills to try and get the running game in gear even against strong Jets defensive front, because this typically sets the right tone for Ryan-coached teams. With A+ rated 5Dimes having the New York at -1, we have additional value as Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick has had a miserable time against Ryan-coached teams, winning just twice in 10 starts. Buffalo by 6.
