Ravens team on the field

We wrecked the sportsbooks’ night on Thursday in the first game of Week 2 and here on Saturday I am back once again to drop two of my free team prop NFL picks.

Ravens vs. Browns O/U 4.5 touchdowns
I am kind of all in on this game being high scoring, but that’s how strongly I feel about this one. The Ravens and Browns touchdown total from BetOnline at only 4 ½ makes a great over play for Sunday’s tilt.

As I’ve talked about all week, the Browns’ offense is going to be better under Josh McCown and at home, it gives this offense a ton of upside, even against an above average Ravens defense.

What makes it an awesome play, however, is that the Ravens’ offense is going to have a field day against the Browns. They have a team total of 23.5 in this game and their upside is easily 30 points. The Browns may have one of the poorest defenses in the league and it could also show this week.

Just 11 months ago when McCown was under center, he dropped 457 passing yards and two touchdowns against the Ravens and high scoring games between these two teams are not out of the question at all. That game was 33-30, their last game against one another last season was 33-27 and the over has now cashed in three of their last four meetings in 2014 and 2015.

Elvis Dumervil is also expected to miss this game for Baltimore, making for even more value added to the Browns’ side of things. I’m projecting a final score of 27-23 with at least five touchdowns for both teams.

New England Patriots O/U 24.5 points
Even though I do expect this game to be somewhat of a low scoring affair, the Dolphins’ defense is still not going to get the best of the Pats here. They may not have 30-point upside, but 28 points is a real possibility for this Patriots team in their home opener.

Jimmy Garappolo had an excellent debut on the road against a seemingly good defense and even though the Dolphins’ defense had a great showing in Week 1 as well, Miami has given up an average of 32 points in their last seven trips to New England since 2009.

Even with Garoppolo and an improved Dolphins defense, the Patriots’ defense is really good too and they are going to absolutely destroy the Dolphins’ offense in this one. In his career, Ryan Tannehill has eight interceptions in eight career games against the Patriots while owning a completion percentage of less than 60 percent in those games. If the Patriots’ defense is getting the better of the Dolphins, New England is going to have a ton of chances to score on Miami. I see them putting up 27 in this one, making for a nice over NFL betting pick early on Sunday.
