I have already released my team prop picks this week, and now just a few hours before game time, it is time again to release my player prop picks of Week 17. The NFL Odds for the final week of the regular season are heating up, and I have found two more touchdown props from Bet365 that have great value this week.
The Bears and Packers are hooking up in Chicago this week, and the winner takes the division. A lot has been made about Aaron Rodgers finally making his return from a broken collarbone, (he was originally injured against the Bears back in Week 9) however with the uncertainty surrounding Green Bay’s passing game, I have chosen a prop on the side of the Bears.
With Jay Cutler back in the fold for the Bears, Brandon Marshall has once again become the go-to target for Cutler and the Bears’ offense. Marshall caught a late garbage time touchdown this past week, which marks two in the last two games that Cutler has player, and a total of 11 on the season for Marshall.
The Packers may not give up a ton of receiving yards, however they sure do give up touchdowns, and I think Marshall finds his way into the end zone for the third straight week. The Packers have given up 19 touchdowns to opposing wide receivers, which is 3rd most in the NFL through Week 16. With Alshon Jeffery and Martellus Bennett garnering attention as well, I see Marshall as a great bet to score again. His NFL Odds from Bet365 are right above a straight wager at -111, and I am taking a stab here in the final regular season week for my nfl pick.
My Pick: Brandon Marshall TD Scored (-111)
Another guy I have my eye on this week is also in a later NFL game this afternoon, as the 49ers head into Arizona to play the Cardinals. While the NFL Odds are very close, I am more focused on Vernon Davis’ touchdown price this week, which sits at an intriguing +105. Even though VD was held without a catch last week, I see him bouncing back against a horrid Cardinals TE defense.
Arizona has been playing well, but their one glaring weakness is a linebacker or safety that can cover TEs. Opposing tight ends have a total of 16 touchdowns against the Cardinals this season, which is three more than the next highest team through 16 weeks.
Davis has 10 touchdowns already this season, and since we have already cashed huge props with TEs against the Cardinals this season, I am going all in one more time. Davis burned the Cardinals for a ton of yards and two touchdowns in their first meeting this season, and after going without a catch in Week 16, I think VD shows up big in this big game, and gets back into the end zone one more time this regular season.
The Cardinals have given up eight touchdowns in their last seven games, and two in their last three. The two most recent ones were against only average tight ends like Delanie Walker and Zach Miller. Davis is far more talented than those two put together, and I am backing him to score this week.
My Pick: Vernon Davis TD Scored (+105)
