Plenty of good seats likely available in Indianapolis as these two huge disappointments close out a lost season. You are my idol if you watch this in its entirety. Survivor Pick: Indianapolis.

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts (-3.5, 41)

I would say that it benefits the loser by potentially landing a better draft pick, but Houston owes its first-rounder (and second) to the Cleveland Browns. Still, the Texans could be very good next year if they can get everyone healthy, primarily quarterback Deshaun Watson – the team traded up in the first round of the 2017 draft to get Watson and that’s why Houston has to pay its 2018 first-rounder to Cleveland. Right now, that pick would be No. 5 overall. Indianapolis would pick third in the 2018 draft as things stand behind the Browns and Giants. This almost surely will be the last game as Colts coach Chuck Pagano – he should be fired on Black Monday. Even he seems to know it. The team reportedly is already doing homework on potential new coaches. It would be a coveted job simply because of Andrew Luck, assuming he can get healthy after missing the 2017 season following shoulder surgery. This also could be it for Houston coach Bill O’Brien – he’d get another job quickly – as reports are that he and GM Rick Smith are at odds. Also complicating matters is O'Brien's contract, which is set to run out after 2018. I’m picking the Colts here simply as they are at home and Houston on a short week.

  • Texans are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 vs. AFC South.
  • Texans are 2-6-2 ATS in their last 10 meetings.

I feel like it shouldn’t take an overly long explanation as to why you should lean under here. It’s two guys who began the season as third-string quarterbacks facing off in Houston’s T.J. Yates and Indy’s Jacoby Brissett (who was third string in New England before being traded). While Brissett has at least done a respectable job this season, the Texans have been putrid offensively since Yates took over for a concussed Tom Savage in Week 14. Yates threw for just 83 yards in Monday’s 34-6 home loss to Pittsburgh. One thing to note is Houston’s DeAndre Hopkins could win the receiving Triple Crown with a big game. He’s first in the NFL with 13 TD catches, fifth with 96 receptions (Dolphins’ Jarvis Landry leads with 103) and second with 1,378 yards (Steelers’ Antonio Brown leads with 1,533 but won’t be playing Week 17). The Colts go for the season sweep as they won in Houston in Week 9, 20-14. That was the first game after the Texans lost Watson for the season. T.Y. Hilton had 175 yards receiving with two touchdowns. He has 1,117 yards receiving and nine touchdowns in 11 games against Houston. Brissett threw for 308 yards. The Texans had a chance to win it late, but Savage was sacked by Jabaal Sheard and fumbled as time ran out to secure the victory.

  • Under is 8-0 in the last 8 meetings in Indianapolis.
  • Under is 7-0 in Colts last 7 games overall.
