That’s not a misprint on the graphic. With the college football regular season having concluded, these AFC West rivals play on Saturday night.

Los Angeles Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs (+2, 45.5)

We don’t have to wait for Sunday for one of the most important games of Week 15. The Chargers and Chiefs are tied atop the AFC West at 7-6 with the Raiders one game back. If the Chiefs win this one, they should take the division because they would hold the tiebreaker over the surging Chargers. Kansas City won at Los Angeles 24-10 in Week 3. Alex Smith threw two touchdown passes in the first 9 1/2 minutes, and Kareem Hunt had a 69-yard TD run. Terrance Mitchell added two picks. Philip Rivers was intercepted three times. It was the ninth time Rivers threw three interceptions in his Hall of Fame career. Safety Ron Parker said the increased presence last week of injured teammate Eric Berry was a factor as the Chiefs broke a four-game winning streak by beating the Raiders on Sunday, 26-15. "He was around a little bit more than normal this week, extra, like,'' Parker said of Berry, who ruptured his Achilles tendon in Kansas City's season-opening win over the Patriots. "He was even at the hotel with us last night. It's different … Any advice he can give to us while he's not out there, he's giving it to us and that's much respect. That's taking us a long way.” The Chargers won their fourth straight Sunday, 30-13 over Washington. The Bolts haven’t won in Kansas City since 2013. The Chiefs have won seven straight overall in the series.

  • Chargers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in December.
  • Chargers are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 meetings.

Arguably Kansas City’s best cornerback, Marcus Peters, missed the Raiders loss as he was suspended by the team. He will be back in the starting lineup against the Bolts, according to Andy Reid. The Kansas City defense played arguably its best game of the season without Peters as the Raiders had just 198 yards passing, and many of their yards and all of their points came after the Chiefs had built a 26-0 lead in the third quarter. Mitchell had Kansas City's first interception against a quarterback since a Week 8 victory over the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs sacked Derek Carr three times, tying for their second-highest total of the season. While outscoring their opponents 131-53 during their four-game winning streak, the Chargers are above .500 for the first time since September 2015 following the rout of Washington. The Chargers racked up 429 yards by midway through the third quarter. Rivers moved ahead of Warren Moon for ninth place in NFL history in career yards passing. Melvin Gordon rushed for a third-quarter score before several Los Angeles regulars took most of the fourth quarter off.

  • Under is 7-1 in Chargers last 8 games overall.
  • Under is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings.
