Cincinnati Bengals vs. Cleveland Browns
Sunday 8th December, 2019 – 1:00pm at FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland
Yes, I’m a Bengals fan, no I’m not deluded, although possibly a bit deranged after the season they’ve put the fans through… However, they won their first game last week and are on a role! They’ve got their Quarterback back, their left tackle has returned which helps the offensive line immensely, and this week they welcome back John Ross who was electric before getting injured early in the season.
The Browns are coming off essentially a season-ending loss against the Steelers last week where they lost Baker Mayfield for a few plays during that game after he damaged his hand on an opposition helmet. He has said he’s playing because “Mumma din’t raise no wuss” – But it’s got to have some effect on him.
The Bengals defense is also getting healthy and has stepped up in recent weeks. They didn’t allow the Jets to even reach the redzone in their game last weekend.
I don’t think the Bengals will win, but 9 points is too much for Freddie Kitchens Browns to cover.
Pick: Bengals +9 @ -115

Indianapolis Colts v Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sunday 8th December, 2019 – 1:00pm at Raymond James stadium, Tampa
The Bucs covered for the second straight week last week in a big win against the Colts divisional rivals the Jaguars. That was an easier challenge than this Colts offensive line but they’re great up front and are the best in the league in defending the run according to DVOA.
The Colts want to run the ball and might welcome back Marlon Mack this week after his hand injury, he’s been in training at least. Even with their brilliant offensive line Williams and Wilkins or a less-than-fully-fit Mack shouldn’t worry the Bucs too much.
They’re beaten up in the pass catching area too, Hilton won’t play, Chester Rogers went out last week, Eric Ebron is out for the season. They might be brining back Dontrelle Inman to help them out. The Bucs can be beaten through the air but this team won’t do it.
The Bucs have no issues in the passing game and if Jameis can keep clean on his side of things they should have too much for the Colts to be able to keep up with them and of course they’ve got the mighty Peyton Barber on the ground to run in a couple of TDs…
NFL Pick: Bucs -3 @ +100

Kansas City Chiefs v New England Patriots
Sunday 8th December, 2019 – 4:25pm at Gillette Stadium, New England.
These two last met in the playoffs last season and played out a cracker of a game ending in overtime with a 37-31 Patriots win. It was great to watch but I don’t think we’ll see a repeat of that this time around despite the offensive talent on show from the Chiefs.
The Pats have failed to click on offense this season and Brady is getting frustrated with his lack of options in the passing game. The only players he seems to trust are Edelman and James White. They haven’t got anything going on the ground so far, Sony Michel has been a huge disappointment, Rux Burkhead average and while James White had a big game last week that half of his TDs for the season.
The Chiefs are struggling at RB too with Damien Willams probably out, Darrel Williams definitely out, Shady McCoy on a pitch count they’ll probably give rookie Darwin Thompson a fair bit of the ball in his first start. They’re good through the air still but have failed to show that in the last couple of weeks and go against the 2nd best pass defense in the league. It will make things difficult for Tyreek and Kelce and if they’re slowed it hurts the whole offense.
The Chiefs defense has been good recently as well, especially against the pass. If they can stop this blunt rushing attack I don’t see both teams topping 20 points.
