The Redskins are 7-3 all-time against the Chargers, including a 2-2 mark in road games. Of course, this is Washington’s first time facing the Bolts in L.A. Survivor Pick: LA Chargers.

Washington Redskins at Los Angeles Chargers (-6, 46)

First meeting since Washington beat the visiting Chargers 30-24 in overtime at FedExField on Nov. 3, 2013. A win would here give the Redskins back-to-back wins against the Chargers for the first time since opening the all-time series between the two teams with six straight victories across the 1973-98 seasons. The Redskins are on extra rest but not sure how much motivation they will have as their playoff hopes basically ended last Thursday in a 38-14 blowout loss in Dallas. Kirk Cousins threw two interceptions and lost a fumble while throwing two touchdown passes. Jamison Crowder let a pass go through his hands on Cousins' first interception and fumbled on a Dallas punt a few plays later in the Redskins' fourth straight loss to the Cowboys, the longest such streak in the series since 2003-04. The Bolts started 0-4 but find themselves tied for first in the AFC West. They won a third straight last Sunday, 19-10 over the Browns. L.A. is 2-1 vs. the NFC East this year, losing close to the Eagles and winning at the Giants and Cowboys.

  • Redskins are 8-18-1 ATS in their last 27 games after allowing more than 150 yards rushing in their previous game.
  • Chargers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games overall.

If you are in your fantasy football playoffs right now, I’m guessing you are thankful to have Chargers receiver Keenan Allen. In the win over the Browns, Allen had 10 catches for 105 yards and a touchdown. He is the first player in NFL history to have at least 10 catches, 100 receiving yards and a touchdown reception in three consecutive games. In those games, Allen has totaled 33 receptions for 436 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Philip Rivers threw for more 250 yards for the third straight week. Rivers finished 30-of-42 for 339 yards and a touchdown and no interceptions. He also threw his 335th career passing touchdown, eclipsing New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning for seventh place on the all-time list. Redskins coach Jay Gruden said the team has no plans to shut down any injured player who has a chance to come back this season even though the season is basically over at 5-7. Left tackle Trent Williams says he intends to play the final four games despite his ailing knee. That will require offseason surgery. The Redskins have 19 players in the final year of their contract; eight were full-time starters entering the season. And nine of those 19 now are on injured reserve.

  • Over is 14-3 in Redskins last 17 games following a straight up loss.
  • Over is 19-7 in Redskins last 26 road games.
