Only the fourth all-time meeting between the franchises, with the Cardinals leading 2-1. The Titans will tie it up as they have something to play for. Survivor Pick: Tennessee.

Tennessee Titans at Arizona Cardinals (+3, 44)

It’s the start of a two-game West Coast trip for the Titans as they go to San Francisco after – I’m presuming the team will stay somewhere out west after this one instead of traveling back across country. Tennessee and Jacksonville are tied for the AFC South lead and face one another in Nashville in Week 17. The Titans won for the sixth time in seven games this past Sunday, 24-13 over Houston. LeShaun Sims intercepted a pass intended for DeAndre Hopkins in the end zone with 1:02 left. Then, if you had the Titans at -7.5, a miracle happened. Derrick Henry ran 75 yards up the left sideline for a TD three plays after the pick to make it a cover. If Henry had just fallen down or run out of bounds the game was over as the Titans could have taken a knee. In fact, Mike Mularkey shouldn’t have tried the PAT up 23-13 as if it was blocked and returned for a score, it’s 23-15 and a one possession game and Houston with the ball. But, I digress. Arizona is just playing out the string and lost for the third time in four games, 32-16 at home to the Rams.

  • Cardinals are 6-14-1 ATS in their last 21 home games.
  • Cardinals are 5-15-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.

We should see history in this game. In last week’s loss Arizona WR and future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald had 10 catches for 98 yards and a touchdown. He now has 1,207 career catches, becoming the third player in NFL history to reach 1,200 receptions. Fitzgerald also now has 15,267 career receiving yards and passed Isaac Bruce (15,208) to move into fourth place on the NFL’s all-time receiving yards list. Randy Moss is next at 15,292 so he should be caught here. Fitz won’t catch Terrell Owens until next year and will never catch Jerry Rice’s total of 22,895. Arizona will stick with former third-string QB Blaine Gabbert here. In three starts, Gabbert is 1-2. He has thrown six touchdowns to five interceptions, he’s been sacked nine times. Should the Titans be concerned with Marcus Mariota? He has totaled just 334 yards passing in the past two games. I guess that works when Tennessee rushes for 198 yards and two scores as it did vs. Houston. Mariota is expected to get WR Rishard Matthews back this week. He missed the past two with a hamstring injury. Matthews leads the team with three TD grabs and is second in catches (41) and yards (626).

  • Under is 11-5 in Titans last 16 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.
  • Under is 13-5 in Cardinals last 18 home games.
