Still one of the NFL’s most-heated rivalries. Pittsburgh goes for a third straight win over Baltimore, which almost never happens. Survivor Pick: Pittsburgh.

Baltimore Ravens at Pittsburgh Steelers (-5, 43.5)

OK, I get the Steelers are one of the NFL’s most popular teams thanks to all those Super Bowl wins, but do we really have to be force-fed them in prime time for a fourth straight week? Pittsburgh goes for its first three-game winning streak against its bitter AFC North rival Baltimore this decade. Last Christmas, the Steelers won a thriller at home on a great touchdown by Antonio Brown to clinch the AFC North and knock the Ravens out of playoff contention. Back in Week 4, the Steelers rolled to a 26-9 win in Baltimore. Le'Veon Bell rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns in the Steelers’ first win there since 2012. Ben Roethlisberger went 18 for 30 for 216 yards and a touchdown. The Ravens trailed 19-0 at halftime and had just 154 yards through three quarters. So why do I like Baltimore here? Because the Steelers are short-handed, on a short week and coming off an incredibly physical game in Cincinnati on Monday night. Plus, the Steelers perhaps might be looking ahead to next week’s huge game with New England. Frankly, the Ravens need this much more to keep their wild-card hopes alive. Maybe the Steelers eke out a win, but it won’t be by more than a field goal.

  • Ravens are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.
  • Ravens are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 vs. AFC North.

Have you ever seen a game like Monday night’s? The Steelers rallied from a 17-3 halftime deficit to win 23-20 in Cincinnati on Chris Boswell’s field goal as time expired – the third time in the past four that the Steelers have won that way. There were dirty hits after dirty hits after personal foul penalties in that matchup. One such hit and taunting penalty will leave Pittsburgh without arguably its second-best receiver in rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster, who has been suspended for this one. He leveled Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict on a cutback block and then stood over him taunting. In addition, Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier, arguably the team’s best player on that side of the ball, is out with a spinal contusion. He went down in a heap after making a tackle head first – it looked like Shazier might be paralyzed from the waist down but thankfully he won’t even need surgery. A big loss, though. Pittsburgh would clinch the AFC North with a win. Baltimore is playing its best football right now on a three-game winning streak but did lose one of its best defensive players, cornerback Jimmy Smith, to a season-ending injury last week in a blowout of Detroit. This should be another hard-hitting, low-scoring game.

  • Under is 13-5-1 in Steelers last 19 vs. AFC North.
  • Under is 4-1-1 in the last 6 meetings.
