The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Cincinnati Bengals headline Monday Night Football in Week 13. This will be the second meeting this season of a classic AFC North rivalry after Pittsburgh won the first matchup in Week 7 at home. Game time from Paul Brown Stadium is set for 8:30 p.m. (ET) with ESPN carrying the national broadcast.

Free NFL Pick: Bengals +5 & Under 43Best Line Offered: at 5DimesGame Overview

The Steelers moved to 9-2 straight-up on the year with last Sunday night’s 31-28 victory against Green Bay, but it came nowhere close to covering as 14-point home favorites. They go on the road this week with an even 3-3 record against the spread as part of an overall betting record of 6-5. The total went way OVER the closing 43-point line against the Packers after it had stayed UNDER in eight of their first 10 games this season.

The trio of Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell lit up the field in last Sunday’s game with 462 yards of total offense. On the year, the Steelers are ranked seventh in the league in total yards but they fall to 12th in scoring with 23.5 points per game. More importantly for Monday night could be a Pittsburgh defense that is fourth in the NFL in both yards and points allowed.

Cincinnati has worked its way back into the AFC wild card picture at 5-6 SU with back-to-back victories against Denver on the road as a 2.5-point underdog and against Cleveland at home as a 7.5-point favorite while holding both teams to a combined 33 points. It is now 6-5 ATS on the year with a 3-2 record ATS when closing as an underdog. The total has stayed UNDER in three of the Bengals’ first five home games this year.

While the Bengals’ defense was able to step up its game the past few weeks, this will be its toughest test since giving up 29 points to Pittsburgh on the road in the first meeting this season. Overall, Cincinnati is ranked 13th in the NFL in yards allowed and its 19.5 points-allowed scoring average is 10th in the league. To have any shot at winning this time around, the Bengals are going to need a much better effort from Andy Dalton and an offensive attack that is dead last in the NFL in total yards gained and 25th in scoring with 18.1 points per game.

Game Betting Trends

--The Steelers have covered in six of their last seven games in Week 13 and they have a 12-3 record ATS in their last 25 December games. The total has stayed UNDER in 22 of their last 27 games played on the road.

--The Bengals are 5-1 ATS in their last six games played in the month of December, but they have failed to cover in 10 of their last 14 games against a team with a SU winning record. The total has stayed UNDER in four of their last five game played on Monday night.

--The favorite in this NFC North clash has covered in three of the past five meetings with one game ending as a PUSH. The total has stayed UNDER in five of the last seven meetings in this divisional matchup.

NFL Pick

Pittsburgh should win this game SU, but it could struggle to cover the five-point spread against a tough division foe. Given the fact that Cincinnati is playing this game at home with quite a bit on the line given its tenuous record, I also believe that this game has a good chance to stay UNDER the current 43.5-point betting line at SBR Odds as the top NFL pick in this game.
