The Rams have some tough games upcoming, so if they want to win the NFC West they need to complete the season sweep of Arizona. Survivor Pick: LA Rams.

Los Angeles Rams at Arizona Cardinals (+7, 45)

I’m not sure Arizona would have done much this season regardless, but it officially went down the tubes in a 33-0 loss to the Rams in Week 7 because Carson Palmer left that game with a broken arm. Palmer was hit by Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree and intercepted with 5:48 remaining in the first half. Might have been the last game of his solid NFL career. Jared Goff ran for a touchdown and threw for another and Greg Zuerlein made four field goals for the Rams. Todd Gurley ran for 106 yards and a touchdown. L.A., which leads the NFC West by a game, has yet to lose back-to-back games this year. It bounced back from a Week 11 loss in Minnesota with a 26-20 win over the red-hot Saints last Sunday. Goff passed for 354 yards and hit Sammy Watkins and rookie Josh Reynolds for touchdowns. NFL scoring leader Zuerlein kicked four field goals. He could set the NFL single-season record in points. Arizona kept its slim wild-card hopes alive with a 27-24 upset of Jacksonville. Phil Dawson kicked a career-long 57-yard field goal with 1 second to play. This could be a minor trap game for the Rams off that big Saints win.

  • Rams are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. NFC West.
  • Cardinals are 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games in December.

Could Blaine Gabbert be Arizona’s future at quarterback? The former first-round bust of the Jaguars played pretty well against his former team in completing 22 of 38 for 241 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. He also helped silence that NFL-leading pass rush with his feet. Coach Bruce Arians already has announced that Gabbert will star this week. Drew Stanton, who Arians said is "getting healthier and healthier," will continue to back up Gabbert, who has thrown for 498 yards, five touchdowns, three interceptions and has completed 61.1 percent of his passes this year. Los Angeles is averaging 29.9 points per game, the second-best mark in the NFL. Gurley leads the NFL with 11 touchdowns and ranks second with 1,344 scrimmage yards. He is the fourth player in franchise history to have at least 1,300 scrimmage yards and 10 touchdowns in the team’s first 11 games of a season. Marshall Faulk in 2000 was the last Ram to do it. L.A. likely will be without No. 1 WR Robert Woods for a second straight game due to injury. That shouldn’t affect this total.

  • Over is 6-1 in Rams last 7 vs. a team with a losing record.
  • Over is 4-0 in Cardinals last 4 games in December.
