An important home game in December for Jacksonville? It has been years since you could say that as the Jags go for a season sweep of Indy. Survivor Pick: Jacksonville.

Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars (-9.5, 40.5)

Jacksonville had one of the most impressive defensive performances by any team this season in a 27-0 blanking of the Colts in Indianapolis in Week 7. The Jags tied a team record, set earlier this year vs. Houston, with 10 sacks in their first shutout since a 41-0 victory over the New York Jets on Oct. 8, 2006. The Colts were shutout for the first time since a playoff game on Jan. 4, 2003. Blake Bortles threw for 330 yards and a score. T.J. Yeldon rushed for 122 yards and a TD – Leonard Fournette was out with an ankle injury. The Jags are tied for the AFC South lead again after they lost in the final seconds Sunday at Arizona and Tennessee rallied past these Colts. Indy was up 16-6 in the third on the Titans but fell 20-16. Indy has lost three straight home games and five of its last six overall. It is one loss away from having the first losing year in coach Chuck Pagano's six seasons. Jacoby Brissett was sacked eight times and Marlon Mack had a crushing fumble at his own 4-yard line late in the third quarter against the Titans.

  • Jaguars are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games.
  • Colts are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss.

The Jags’ pass defense is the best in the NFL but it had trouble with former Jacksonville first-round pick Blaine Gabbert in the 27-24 Arizona loss. Gabbert eluded the pressure and extended plays with his feet. “Very frustrating,” safety Tashaun Gipson said. “When you’ve got a defensive line like this that prides itself on getting to the quarterback ... He’s athletic, and he was making plays with his feet today, and it cost us in the second half.” The Jaguars entered the game leading the NFL in sacks (40) but managed to bring Gabbert down once. Then there’s Bortles. He had seven passing attempts of at least 10 yards against the Cardinals and didn’t complete a one. Pagano said early this week that cornerback Rashaan Melvin's right hand injury is "significant" and that he'll be out Sunday's game at Jacksonville. Center Ryan Kelly is in the concussion protocol and he’s out. Offensively, the Colts are ranked 31st in the NFL in second-half total offense (135.2) and points (6.7) and they’re last in the league in red zone efficiency over the final 30 minutes of the game.

  • Under is 6-1 in Colts last 7 vs. AFC South.
  • Under is 10-3 in the last 13 meetings.
