The schedule-makers did the Lions a huge favor for this game as they visit Baltimore for only the third time and first since 2009. Survivor Pick: Baltimore.

Detroit Lions at Baltimore Ravens (-2.5, 40.5)

These two wild-card hopefuls have just four all-time meetings with the Ravens winning three – including the last one in 2013, 18-16 in Detroit. That was very notable because Justin Tucker hit the winning field goal from 61 yards out. Detroit comes off a tough loss to Minnesota, but at least that was on Thanksgiving. So the Lions are on extra rest, while the Ravens are on a short week after beating Houston on Monday. Neither team is going to win its respective North Division so it’s wild card or bust. Detroit’s three-game winning streak ended in a 30-23 Turkey Day loss to the Vikings; no shame in that with how well Minnesota is playing. Matthew Stafford, with a lot of tape covering his right cleat, stayed in the game after hurting his right ankle on a touchdown pass when defensive tackle Tom Johnson fell on him. It looked bad at first for Stafford, but he’ll be in there. Baltimore continues to do just enough offensively to win, beating the Texans 23-16 on Monday. Alex Collins ran for 60 yards and a touchdown and punter Sam Koch threw perhaps Baltimore's most significant pass of the game.

  • Lions are 2-8 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.
  • Lions are 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 games in December.

The Lions will be missing starting safety Tavon Wilson for the rest of 2017 as he had season-ending shoulder surgery this week. Wilson injured his shoulder for the third time this year against the Vikings on Thanksgiving. Second-year Miles Killebrew should take over at strong safety. The Lions are having trouble stopping the run but can’t themselves. Baltimore is largely in the same boat, although it held Houston to 66 yards on 25 carries. Joe Flacco's 141 yards passing were the fewest for a winning quarterback in Week 12. Koch, the punter, had as many completions as Flacco on throws over 15 yards. The Ravens have had some problems when it comes to playing teams from the NFC. Since 2015, the Ravens are 3-8 straight up and 2-8-1 ATS against NFC teams. Baltimore's path to its first playoff berth since 2014 remains very much in its grasp. The Ravens play three of their final five games at home and face only two teams with winning records.

  • Under is 22-10 in Lions last 32 road games.
  • Under is 12-3 in Lions last 15 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
